Got the ram tonight. The steering still feels floaty after alignment. Maybe there Is a lot of slack in the box. Also the front axle has a noise while driving. Like ring and pinion or ujoint. Its almost like a chatter. Where do I start on these issues? FYI its an 01 1500 4wd.

If I were you, Id fix that noise first bc the steering slop isnt really gonna cause any more issues where if you leave that u-joint or whatever it is go you could run into bigger and more expensive problems. Then once you fix that, adjust the steering box. There is actually a DIY on the steering play in the DIY Section.

The 4wd light is on. But it seams to function fine. The pinion angle looks off. What does yours look lile? I have a 5" roughcounty lift with fixed arms.

4wd light can come on because of several reasons, just because it needs some maintenance is a possibility. Whens the last time you changed the fluids?

If the 4wd light is on, and you hear chatter, I would assume its something coming from the front diff?

What does your pinion angle look like? The angle of the front shaft compared to the vertical edge of the front axle.
Yes I'm sure it is not in 4wd when in two

As for the light. It is my understanding there is very little electrical in the process. I have read it may be a dirty connection at the lever. I will have to find my other thread with that info.

Looking into it briefly today... The sway bar link is crap. So I feel that may just be the rattle.
