So, I’ve been able to test out some of the “other guy’s setups” front shocks just to see how they ride in off road territory which I reside in (dirt pothole roads and ice roads).
I used Stock, Pro comp, Rough country N3 2.5, Rancho 2.0, and next Rough Country 6” shocks.
So far, Pro comp has come out on top. The rest weren’t holding up to code when faced with the aggressive landscape and terrain. Mind you, the 6” rough country has yet to be tested. I have the 6” Fabtech left with Daystar 3” BL. Running 37 AMP muds on 20x12 -52 vision wheels. Pro comp was the best riding and took the abuse for 4years until I blew out the right shock. So far the rest haven’t been riding any where near the pro comp. I have not bothered with Fabtech coilovers, Fox, ICON, Bilstiens, or Kings. Not that I can’t, but I want to see how these “other guys setup” are. I’m planning to end up with Fabtech 2.5 Coilovers with Res, because that’s my lift of choice. Kings are in the bag as well, will see after I put these RC 6” Coilovers to the test. Waiting for them to arrive… snow should be here soon as well.
