So is it a really strange coincidence or could it be a cause? Changed fuel filters as well as oil and air. Upon restart I get a fuel sensor error and gauge doesn't work.

During this time I also put the spare back in its mount. Was off due to tail ight not getting power and I had to run a wire from trailer plug to the tail ight to bypass the wiring harness. Wire is bad somewhere in the huge harness.

Are there any wires that I may have bumped and disconnected? either engine compartment or underneath.

About 100,000 miles.
