All I can say is this is going to be a short story, and I have to give props to ram owners because they were the only ones stoped to help people. As most of you herd texas is shut down because of 5 inches of snow.(I promis this has a towing point). We went to my parents this evening to play cards and hang out the wife and I were bored. On the way home roads were pretty awful about inch sold ice stuck to the road (my truck wasent even leaving any tracks) anyways we roll up to a truck and a car in off to the side of the road with flashers on. The truck was a 4th gen larmie and we rolled the window down to see if there was anything we could do and the truck said no that they were just houseing a family that was traveling to cheer competition the front wheel of the little car came off litterly fell off. I had a couple waters in the truck gave them to them and away we went. We rolled up on a truck (chevy) that was way down in a ditch and stuck there was a 4th gen ram 2500 hooked up to it and he had drug him about 50 ft in the ditch. So I got out to asses the situation first thing I knowticed is they had 2 straps together and had no angle to pull him out on and they were trying to pull him out backwards (I will never rag on a good samaritan but he lacked experience hopefully he learned a few tricks) so I got him flipped around and hooked to the front and I knowticed 2 things 1 he had a 2 inch strap and 2 it was hooked to the ball. I told them he was pretty far down there and he would probably brake that strap if he got any torque on it. So i grabbed my 4 in strap and got them hooked up (with the strap through the hitch pin) stood back and the guy took off to yank him and I jump back and ran out of the way, I though he was going to go slow and as soon as the strap went tight the ram almost got pulled into the ditch. I stopped him told him go 4low and just be easy with it. They stopped and the guy and the ram got out and said I don't have 4wd. at this point I was like I let me have a go. So I put all the tips and tricks I have learned her to good use I hook my straps up properly useing the hitch pin and not the hitch ball, took a shovel and made some track for him to follow spread some dry sand in the grooves and I clicked that bad boy into 4 low and as soon as the strap got tight it kicked the back end of truck over and just started pulling I walked him right out of the ditch with out even giving it hardly any throttle. I love 4lo it is really bad ass. Sorry for the long ass story but I'm like a giddy little school girl it's normally me who is having to get pulled out. I just had to share and let everyone know that ram owners were the only ones stopped at 11 pm at night on icey roads to help stranded motorist and that I got to put all the tips and tricks I have learned on this forum to good use. I wish I had pictures or a video but it was dark and I didn't want my prego wife getting out of the truck on the icey road when I first got out of my truck I went stright to the ground. This is the end of my story promis! :roflsquared:

Awesome story. I pulled a brand new GMC out of an intersection to a nearby parking lot days after buying our tow strap :roflsquared:

Good man. In times of panic.....which is what our state is in right now. At least the DFW. There are good people out there. Just like the Jeep Crew off of I-20 pulling that semi out. Good story.
