Hi All,

I've just joined the site to learn more about a truck that I'm about to ship to Australia and get a Right Hand Drive conversion on.

As soon as my current 4x4 sells, I'm ready to order, but have it down to two models:
2500 Longhorn
1500 Longhorn

I've seen one 3500 in Australia, but never seen a 1500 in the flesh.

Does anyone have a photo of a 1500 next to a 2500 ?

What are peoples rough ideas between why each model.

It won't do any towing of note, I just want a great looking truck, that no-one has in Australia.

Thanks,

Bruce.

Welcome. Born and Raised in Darwin NT and came to the States in 2000. Go back to QLD and Vic to visit family every few years.

Excellent, what took you to the US?
You'll understand how hard it is for me to actually see a 1500 or 2500 to compare.
The AUD v USD dollar is really helping at the moment. Conversion cost still high, but worth it to get a unique truck for Australia.

Ah... Excellent. Very interesting seeing them like that.

I think the 1500 may be more what I want. Parking a 3500 here in Australia might be near-on impossible.

The full cost of truck inc purchase price, shipping, tax, import duty, conversion to Right Hand, & Australian Compliance is about $85,000 AUD => $82,000 USD for a 1500. But they are selling 2006 type Rams here for $90K !!!

When I order it, are there any additional options/accessories that are a "must".

I want 4x4 Longhorn with RamBox, Sunroof.

You're pretty much gonna' get everything with the Longhorn.... and then some.

You'll be VERY happy.

WOW on the price .. and IMO .. 2500 .. for the reasons it has a SFS (solid front axle )
Cheaper to lift , taller than a 1500 .. and a stronger frame .

Thats sort of where I'm confused.... a 2500 is approx $8K more, but at the price I need to pay for conversion etc, I "might as well" go the bigger one !
