Hi I’m new here and new to dodge 4x4. I have a 2005 ram 1500 quad cab 1500 with 5.7 and 35inch tires I’m rebuilding rear diff because of bad bearings. Took cover off and found that it has 4.27 gear ratio I do tow from time to time is this a good set up thanks

Welcome
That 4.27 ratio if its correct is a mpg killer unless you pull heavy all the time (overkill)
If you dont pull often and can change your ratio. a little towing 3.23, more towing 3.55, more 3.92
Good luck

The 4.27 if those are right are correct for towing with 35 inch tires.. never heard of 4.27.. but ratio of the stock tires and gears were more than likely matched to the 35s.. 3.92 x 35 ÷ 32= 4.28
If you had 3.92's before..
