Hey Guys,

Not sure if I’m posting in the right thread here but I’m looking for some advice on a couple of issues I’m having with lights/bulbs.

1. I’ve changed pretty much all the bulbs on my truck to LEDs. For some reason I seem to go through the license plate bulbs every couple of months. Could this be because they are cheap bulbs or because they are LED’s? If I switched the lights to LED’s on Alpha OBD would that help?

2. I installed factory cab clearance (roof) lights on my Ram 1500. Again I’m using LEDs and I’m having issues with bulbs flickering and not lasting very long? Any ideas?

Thank you

The only input I have is that certainly won’t hurt changing them all to LED using AlphaOBD.
That will give clean solid 12v signal to the bulbs. Will eliminate the flickering in the bulbs you see, and possibly help the life of the other bulbs.

To answer both of your questions. Yes you need the Alpha OBD and set to leds.
Next thing is to check the grounds on the tag lights

I put in some cheaper $6.99 set leds and no issues, I haven't set alpha to led and my truck came with halogen bulbs. Plenty bright and only issue I notice is when I turn truck off, the license plate leds dim then barely stay lit for maybe 30 seconds then go off. Had them in 15 months now.
