Nope. Actually fiberglass tops severely limit your access and ability to haul while soft covers give full access to the bed. 1) you couldn't give me a fiberglass top unless I just took it to sell it, 2) they make the truck pretty much a modified SUV with half the cargo space...not sure how that helps anyone. 3) you're welcome to your opinion, but no point in trying to point out how snarky you are at other's expense.

I've lived all over the country. I moved back to MI and yes, we have had some harsh winters. The Truxcedo top is the only "soft" top that I've seen handle the snow weight.

So, depending on your use, do you want limited bed function and access and want to spend a bunch of money on a color matched hard tonneau, or do you want full access to your bed at the cost of color matching and having soft fabric at about 1/3 the cost of a hard.

@thetank...glad you're in love with your $1000 hard tonneau ;)

What about the security of a soft cover...I would be afraid to leave the truck outside, or at a motel with anything of value in the back...I'm looking for a hard cover that retracts, or one similar to the Peragon that retracks and folds downward...or maybe the roll n lock model. Yeah, I hate the price of those, but security of stuff means a lot since I travel a bit...

Wtf are you putting in the back that requires so much security? LoL. I've never ever had a truck bed broken into. Put a small lockable tool box or put it in the cab. I can't imagine anything I'd leave in my bed that I'd be that concerned about.

I have a G2 Bakflip that has survived the PA snowbelt since my 2009 ram and is still rocking on my 2012. Great product

I use an access cover and one of the big reasons I chose it was they are located in Jamestown, ND and I wanted to support local business. The thing has held up great it has been through 4 winters going into its 5th and I have had zero issues. It still fits great and keeps out snow and rain. I like that it is not metal so it won't rust. It has some metal parts underneath but they are protected form elements. I believe it has a lifetime warranty. It can be locked as long as you have a locking tailgate.

Also a big fan of Access and I bought a new Lorado for my 1500. I had one on my 2006 Ranger for 8 years of constant use in NE weather. Access replaced it as it was wearing out for the cost of shipping. Company stands behind their product and it wears very well. My 1500 is garaged and I am sure the cover will last longer than the Ranger cover. Of course I have no worries that it will be replaced for the cost of shipping when that time comes.

Still waithing on my new 1500 2015 (end of January) but I already purchase my new tonneau cover for it PACE EDWARDS JACK RABBIT , my third one since 2002.
Its my fourth RAM and always leave it with the truck when I changed it.
(except the first one fit on the 2 trucks, 2002 and 2005)
never add any problems whit them, and the service at pace Edwards is great
add to replace the lock after 8 YEARS under warranty (the first one)
Im in Montreal Canada and we have sometimes 100 degrees in summer and -40 in winters and always folds good, always stay straight and theft proof also.(to hard to break)
My choice.

I think those back flips are cool just super expensive. $700-1400 is 3 times what I paid for my truxedo truxsport. I love it. Getting another one now for my old Ram. I guess I just don't leave anything in the bed I'm worried might get stolen. But I'm a country mouse not a city mouse. I leave my truck unlocked with a key in the ash tray too.

I researched these things left and right but bought the truck with a soft cover - which lasted 2 weeks as it flapped, was noisy driving down the road.

It was expensive, but the metal Diamond I have will hold snow plus a couple of people on top. Access to the rear and separate access to the front. Cutting into it would be difficult - very secure.
The only thing I don't like about it is I am forced to sell it cause I am trading for a 6'4" bed truck - I have the shortbed now. SOmone who lives in Missouri can get themselves a giveaway type price on this compared to the new ones. I theoretically have 3 weeks before my new truck arrives.
I am either going to buy another one of these or the Undercover Elite.
