Most I talked to had the same impressions of both tires. I only needed help with the light off road aspect (remote parks, wet gravel approaches, etc..) so the hiway advantage was the selling point with these at's. Had I the need for a more aggressive tire they would not have been my first choice.
That being said, the first haul was nothing less than pleasing. Ran I-26 into Asheville (the steep side) with rain and patchy fog. The wife immediately commented on the fact that movement in the truck was reduced to nearly zero even when being passed by the bobtails and big rigs. Engine noise is still higher than hiway tire noise and there's no more noticable seat vibration than with the stock rubber. Only downside thus far is that I fear mpg's will take a hit since we can now travel at greater speeds with greater stability. Going to wait for flatter terrain before making that call. Have yet to weigh this configuration but I dare say the over/under is 15k GCVW. Rear axle ~#3700, front ~#3200, TT ~#8000-8400.
Just for science's sake I gave it hell on a 7% grade for about a mile and it held 65 mph without sending temps through the roof. Rpm's stuck around 4500 and the HEMI didn't quit. Eased off and brought them down to 3200 for the rest of the climb and speed held at 55. We head down the mountain in a couple of days and get to run some switchbacks heading in to Tenn. Doubt much will change but if'n it does ya'll are gonna hear about it.
