get ready to spend money ie lens, accessories etc. I have a 11-22mm Olympus @1200.00 a 50-200mm Olympus @ 1200.00 and the whopper a 50-500mm Olympus @ 8400.00 and three or four other lens that get used sparingly. Then there are the extra batteries, screen protectors, tripods and well its like the vehicle aftermarket in that it never stops. Oh then there's the bag to put everything in, glass cleaner, wipes and extra bodies re: Olympus E500, Olympus E510 and those are the two spares. I have the latest two models of the Olympus bodies. I guess the four bodies I have run to the total of approximately 4000.00 give or take.
Enjoy your new toy.

Can be but I only have one shotgun, I figure that is all I would ever need:favorites13:

If that's the prices of quality cameras. I'll start praying that my wife never gets into that hobby.

Are those amounts in USD or Yen? Please say Yen. That's gotta be Yen.

I use Instagram. It was free.

from everything I have read the image quality and speed can't compare with a good drsl. My latest Olympus is lightning fast and images are golden. The bridge camera has its place but not in my place. Sort of a speed thing, I love my Olympus and the fact it can shoot 9 frames per second. By all means enjoy your bridge camera :favorites13:

I just ordered a Nikon D5300 to replace my D40x. Still in the "starter" category for DSLRs, but it's at the high end of the starter category - I don't see the need for a full-frame camera at this point, so no need to shell out $2500 for the next camera above the one I just ordered. Plus, if I went full-frame, I'd need all new lenses to get the best effect, which would costs thousands of dollars just to get something worthwhile...

Who only needs 1 gun...and a shotgun of all things? Don't get me wrong....I believe everyone (if you're a law abiding citizen) should have a shotgun but also a rifle and a handgun at a minimum.

Been into photography for years, started out with Minolta SLR and had a few of those. I'm now a Nikon fan for 28 years. Sold my SLR about 8 years ago and bought a Nikon D90 DSLR. I'll maybe buy another body in the future. Excellent lens in the Nikon line up but some are expensive depending on the glass configuration.

from all I hear Canon is the king of lens selection but as I was told when first starting out Canon Nikon Olympus are kind of like comparing Audi, BMW and Mercedes. How is the Nikon lens selection?:favorites13:

Canon does have a massive selection of lenses in many ranges of focal length.
I have always loved my Canon(s) for the speed of the autofocus.
Just like the debate who makes the best car/truck, the debate between Canon/Nikon will never be answered
