my gts covers came in over the weekend, i think they look pretty good, going to get the windows tinted and put 40% on the windshield. third brakelight is on order and i have a set of black chrome srt10 style 22s for spring. what is a good high output replacement bulb for the fogs without going to hid?

OP the highest output your going to get with halogen is SilverStars, or PIAA extreme whites.. and performance gain will be minimal for the price go with HID's or live with halogens

Are the cops around here the only ones who hassle people for this?! I see people doing this on a bunch of forums and cars but around here the PD tickets for this pretty regularly. I personally haven't done it but I know quite a few folks who've gotten pulled over for it.

Had a set on my '98 Dakota back in the day. Never got pulled over for them. Tails are kinda hard to see during the day but fine at night. Newer tails might not be as bad, that was 15yrs ago..

Sometimes playing dumb is the BEST policy.

Cops love these things around here, easy pinches. Equipment violations are the easiest way for police to get P.C. for dui stops. Not saying you will but... if your going to have a drink or two and drive make sure your lights work and all your paper work is in line.

I'll hold off on installing the blackout covers until I get the HID kit to match it. The headlights are dim enough as it is.

If you enjoy the blacked out look you could paint the housing black as to not diminish the quality of light. That would be my suggestion over covers it will cost more but much safer with how crappy these stock headlights are.

sorry guys, for some reason my notifications werent coming in on this thread. i picked them up on amazon for 140 shipped for the whole set. i thought it was a pretty good deal for right now untill i can get some all black headlights, or do the 2014 conversion. the light output isnt too good on them but the fogs do a good job at night, they also just snap in place so if it comes down to it i could take them off easily. there really isnt a problem where im at with cops, they dont really care about it. but i do want to upgrade my foglight bulbs. what are some good non ballast bulbs to run? and i also came to the conclusion whan i walked out of work for lunch that i want to do a flat black vinyl wrap on the hood and roof of the cab. i think it would look pretty slick.

Back in the day, I had covers. I removed them when driving at night.
The taillight covers are just dangerous, but they look SOOO good.

I had a conversation with one guy about putting flat black hood vinyl on a black hood. I think the black on black would look bad ass.

How exactly do these attach? Velcro sticky type? They look good. Depending on how they install they might be good for shows.

The headlights just clip on, the tail lights are Velcro tape. I haven't had any problems with the tail lights. Visibility is still good for the brakelights. Headlights... Not so much. Only light output is from the fogs
