I am glad I live in the Southwest. Nobody cares about any of that crap. About every other truck had a lift and or larger tires and nobody has mud flaps. I have never been hit with any sort of rock or anything Don't follow somebody so close and it will be more effective than if they had mud flaps.

Take off the tinted tail lights, make the truck legal. What a douche.

Saw a car last night with tinted taillights. Couldn't even tell they were on.

Call me crazy but I would bet if someone with the blackout stop/ tail lamps gets rear ended, guess who's gonna get the ticket "plus getting to pay for all the damages to both vehicles. Saw one the other day and couldn't tell if brake lights were on or not. Just my thoughts.

My lights aren't so dark that they can't be seen. You can still see the red in them And can clearly see them function (IMO if you can't tell wether or not an object as big as truck is stopped/stopping then you shouldn't be driving, at least not ridding the persons ass). What I believe the issue was initially was I don't have mud flaps. That was reason enough to stop me. Once he had me stopped he looked for and pointed out the other issues.

I ordered two sets of weather tech mud flaps neither will work with my fender flares.

The mopar rubber mud flaps work with flares. Plus they won't rub your paint off like the moulded kind does

Since when are mudflaps mandatory, if they were they would come with the vehicle from the factory.

Depends on the state. They were required in Tennessee when I lived there in the 90's but are not required up here in Washington (state) or Idaho.

That's great other people shouldn't be driving when your out there. Because there not smart enough to drive around you. What do you get out of having tinted taillights? It makes it harder for people to tell if your stopping. As long as it makes you cool that's all the matters.

Geez people... lay off the tinted tail light issue. If he wants them tinted, he can tint them and then deal with the consequences, what ever they may be. I'm sure he knew that going into it. It doesn't effect you guys any. And, no, I don't have mine tinted. I'm just saying... it's not that big of a deal to start calling names and flaming him for it.

Likely two issues at play here...

One, his state has a law with word requiring a quote "red lens",
and two, the officer dislikes tinted taillights, windows, hot-rod mods, etc...

I think both times I was stopped was just informative and quotas for their monthly tallies. Any mod you make to the operation or function of a vehicle is technically against the law as it changes the factory designed specifications. It really all depends on the guy pulling you over on how clear/grey he wants to interpret the law. Shame on us all for putting on bigger tires and lifts. God forbid you tint your tail lights the cyber bad asses will come through the key boards and crucify you for being a sinner.:flipthebird::flipthebird::favorites13:
