Would look good with a color matched surround with chrome inserts. I had the same issue as you with to much chrome but still wanted some chrome. Since you have a chrome bumper i would leave the inserts chrome. This is what i did.

I definitely like this look. Time to get searching for the surround.

I agree. Would be nice to see it with a chrome bumper before I start buying things haha..

There's this for a pretty good deal. Might be able to get them to ship it to you.

That’s a great deal for that... funny all you guys want the black out... I put an ALL chrome on mine after a deer hit me and broke my original grill. But I’ll admit, I don’t like how it looks, it’s kinda ugly. But it worked out good for mounting my light bar.... see me avatar pic...

I'm so glad to see this thread. New to me Bright White 2011 Bighorn, and there's just something about those chrome slats. I don't know if it's not deep enough, but definitely too much chrome. I've been considering the black honeycomb inserts. I'm glad that was shared. I've always liked the Laramie's as well. Maybe just the honeycomb, even in chrome would add depth and break up that grill a bit. Please share what you end up doing with yours.

Still debating on if I like the grill or not but I swapped mine with an ebay one. Still waiting on my blacked out lights to arrive. Been thinking about getting the trex grill to compare to ebay one but its pricey..

Found this on Ebay, the price is right. https://www.ebay.com/itm/312050000994?ul_noapp=true

I sent the seller a question to see if I could use their surround with my existing slats. If so, heck maybe I'll send the honeycomb to Chuckster.

Why thanks, Mellis! I'm not sure they'll fit on my 2011, but I do like that grill you've mentioned on Ebay. Looks great. I love my truck, but sure wish it was a 2013 and up. Seems I would have a lot more headlight, bumper and grill options if so. I had little shopping time when purchasing mine (following a total accident) and didn't realize there were so many changes in 2013.

I bought mine for $255 shipped from Allmoparparts.com, a vendor here, then figured may sell chrome ones for $100 or so.
So for $155...worth it.

I don't see the "quads" on that site. I'm assuming the "quads" are the headlights. You switched them out for black ones? I too, have the "way to much chrome up front" blues and want to switch these out.

The grill and bumper aren’t so bad, my vote is to get black headlight housings.

Best grill I could find for the money. It was on ebay.

Another option to consider is vinyl wrap. It's relatively inexpensive versus a new grill. Also, I agree that blacked out headlights might be a good option on your black truck, they did wonders to mine:

Sweet paint job!! Great idea on the wrap and if you don’t like it after a while just take off the wrap and do something different.

Thanks man! It's actually not paint at all, everything that's gray or red is actually vinyl wrap. Unless you're right up on the vehicle it's hard to tell tho.
