I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Tradesman that came with standard halogen headlights and replaced them with a set of projector headlights that use H1 halogen bulbs for both high and low beams. in my opinion, they look neato but light output is "meh" even with the brightest bulbs I can find. I am thinking about swapping out the low beam halogen bulbs to LED's but have read that there are specific "error free" versions for projectors. As many of you know it is a mild pain in the rear to get the headlights out which has to be done to replace bulbs and in this case, aim since the adjusters are on the back of the housings. I looked around the forum for similar posts but did not see anything related. If anyone can lead me to a post here or has experience with this I would love to know which bulbs have been used with no issues.
Thanks in advance

If you get alfaobd, change your lights to led you can use any led and not get a warning or need resistors or any of that junk. I had the expensive harness with resistors and relays and once I got Alfa I deleted all that extra junk. I'm not sure about other years but my 2015 likes to flicker led lights that are "canbus compatible" for some reason..

I think you need to enable the High Intensity Discharge Lighting setting with AlfaOBD to stop this flickering.

Hmm I'm Gonna try that. I just looked it up apparently there's a bcm update on it fi fix that but they're not getting my truck because I don't want that stupid rotary switch lockout installed.

Would love to figure out how to lockout the rotary knob lockout. Yeah, the update was done on my '16 before I got it.

Switching to LED in AlfaOBD worked on my truck to eliminate the pulsing of the LED headlights. I didn't try the HID because the LED worked.

If your referring to where the shift knob goes to park when the door is open, buy a 3" seatbelt extender and leave it plugged in on the driver side.

Thanks for the tip! The dealership activated that in mine without telling me. I was HOT. I don't have a back up cam and my rear windows are tinted so its hard to see backing up to a trailer especially at night.

I tried leaving the seat belt on and opened my door at about 3 miles an hour and sure enough the truck kept rolling .

I decided that it would be a good idea to be able to change the headlight settings even though buying error free led lights. So after much research I decided to go with Jscan for a few reasons. License isn't expensive, Vlink Bluetooth obd works for both my truck and the wife’s Renegade and not expensive, and it works on my iPhone.
My aftermarket headlights us H1 bulbs for both low and high beam. I was originally going to replace just the low beams and decided i shiuld replace both since these head lights are a bit of a pain to deal with. Sadly I goofed and only ordered one pair of bulbs. I guess I will get to it next weekend.
