has a 6.1 or 6.4 hemi been swapped into truck?

I don't know if there is already a thread on this but I was wondering if anyone you know of has ever swapped one of the larger hemis into a 3rd Gen truck? The thought has crossed my mind multiple times... My truck being all wheel drive I think it would be cool (eventually when i can afford it), but I don't know if the tranny would bolt up...

6.1's and stroked 5.7's and 6.1's (all the way from 392 to 420) have been swapped into Ram's. Tranny bolts up fine. the problem is getting one to last with that much power...

I wonder if it would be possible to tune the ECU to accept a manual tranny swap at the same time? You could grab one of the HD truck's 5-speeds, now that would be friggin awesome, wish a manual had been an option in my 11.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I just picked up a 02 quad cab as a second vehicle/tow rig for our little trailer. I wish it had more power. I also drive a 06 Grand Cherokee SRT8. I was dreaming that when I win the lottery I will buy a built motor for twin turbo for the SRT and swap the 6.1 into my truck!!! Only if money were no issue lol

Get a fordged motor for the Jeep and toss a set of twin 66 front mounts on it. Depending on money ya can do $5k for decent power or full eninge build and trans for around $25k 1,100 hp to the wheels.

I never knew that there was ways to make a **** ton of power in these things till I started helping at the shop. Its sad when 600-700 HP is a daily driver and makes ya yawn after driving the 1,000 HP plus stuff.

How about the GCSRT8 trans/transfer case? That would work.

In theroy anything would work with alot of time and money. Here is a pic of a 426 with trans and T case bolted to it in the sub fram ready to go back under the Jeep.

The Jeep trans is running on a stand alone TCM, so if there was a way to get the Ram PCM to not register it then splice into the harness and run the sep TCM it may work.

I've always wanted to pull my 5.7 out and drop a 6.1 in it.. Maybe I'll have the money when the engine starts to get old! Lol

Just buy the 6.4 stroker kit, and have the engine cleaned and block machined. It's like $3500 for the kit, and $1500-2K for the work. Net you about 400-420 to the rear wheel.

Then, it's only $3500 for a new ATS tranny!

Why buy a new motor, when you can just improve the one you have!
