Has anyone tried these smoked fog light replacements?

Was wondering if anyone here has tried these smoked lens fog lights? They look like they would be a direct replacement for the OEM fog lights....but these also come with wiring and a switch. I contacted two eBay sellers about them, but neither one had any answers and both said they're not mechanics. I was hoping to use these just for the housing and keep my factory wiring / bulb in place.

Just tint ur factory ones

I tried that.... looked good at first. But, then it kinda seemed like water gets behind the tint. Now there's some lines / creases in the tint. I think it's because even thought the factory lenses looked fine clear, when I put the tint on it kind of brought out some imperfections to the factory lenses. Probably from sand, etc....hitting them for a few years. I like the look of the darker lights and was hoping to find tinted lenses rather that add tint over the clear lens.

Maybe the wiring is if you don’t have factory fogs? Seems weird to have to run new harness.

That's what I thought too. I was hoping I got an answer from one of the sellers....but, no luck, I even specifically asked them if I could just re-use my stock wiring. It "looks" like it would work...

Buy it and before mounting it plug your trucks harness into the bulb for the smoked light. If it doesn’t work you can return it. Since they use the same bulb it should be “plug & play” with trucks that have factory fogs.

I think I'll try that. Was just hoping someone here had already tried them.

I found them on Amazon too...with reviews. Apparently, they are plug and play. Mostly good reviews...except for a couple that said after a while they got water in theirs. Wondering if I can seal them before I install them....or if water might still get in where the bulb seats.

Someone here had bought them and said they really cut down the light output

Ok... I wondered that. I ordered them and should get them tomorrow. I'm sure the tinted lens cuts down on the light output. So I might try some LED's in them.

I replaced my factory ones that had weird heat cracks with these exact ones. Direct swap. Took 15 minutes. Also already had leds so not sure how it'd be with halogens.

Cool... Thanks. Was hoping someone in here had already tried them! Can't beat the price for them.

I bought the tinted ones off eBay. They fit great however the springs are soft and not as robust as factory. When I adjusted and go over jolts in the road the fog light moves on one of them. There is not solution so I may put originals back and tint them

Is it possible to re-use the springs from my original lights on the new tinted ones?

Different design everything is lighter. Only one moves the other is fine. Try your luck

I installed mine today...looks great. I didn't drive it at night yet to see if either one vibrates or shakes. But, I was able to transfer the OEM spring and set screw to the new lights.
