I am looking to do some modes and was wondering what headers would be a direct replacement but still give performance upgrades.

JBA, BBK both offer shorties that will show 10-12 Hp gains with out a custom tune.

Direct swap. Bolts right into existing collector.

I've researched both pretty extensively, my understanding is the JBA has a better fit and function. But both offer ceramic coated bolt up models.

The ARH longtubes are actually bolt on as well and offer twice the gains (25-30hp/tq with tuning). They come with a new y-pipe with or without high flow cats (whichever you prefer), and they are designed to clamp directly onto your factory piping just in front of your muffler. You will not have to bend or weld any new pipe to install he longtubes.

That's pretty awesome. I've heard good things about ARH. Plus,...long tubes are the way to go for performance.
So,...since these need a tune, they should pass emissions and obviously no CEL, correct?

Yes and no. Last month ARH started using new high flow cats that are supposed to keep all codes away. We have sold about 15 sets of these headers with the new cats, and so far, no engine codes. The earlier header kits were hit and miss on the codes...1 truck would be fine, but the other would trigger a code for the rear sensor. Even if you do throw a code for the rear sensor, Hemifever can disable these sensors for you to keep the CEL away.

Unless something has changed the CEL will go away and not be illuminated on the dash but the vehicle will not be in a ready state for emissions testing to my knowledge.

You use to be able to disable the rear o2s back in the day with the Diablos but it had to be removed I believe due to the Feds. Now it can only be done via CMR custom tunes.
