What is the best way to redo the headliner in these trucks? Any tips?.... Im thinking I will pull the headliner off and buy some black fabric, spray adhesive it on then trim all the holes out and Reinstall. Im just looking for some pointers so I don't have a droopy headliner

I redid my headliner in my 08 ram. First off, get material that is 64" wide. I used 60" and am about an inch short on both sides. Second. I would pull the old material. Youll have to have a belt sander of some sort, or a wire brush, to get the foam off from underneath the layer of material you'll actually get off. And then finally, lay the material out on the headliner board so that it is covering where you want it to cover, and then fold up one half to the middle of the fabric, spray the underside of the fabric and the board, and slowly lay back down while smoothing it out. And then do the other side.

I'm having a hard time finding 64" material actually ... Do use like foam backed material? Just go over the old stuff? Never done it before.

I used 60" wide and it wasnt quite wide enough. I believe any custom interior shop can get wider material that you need. Yes. It's the foam backed material, and I removed the old material instead of laying it down over it.

I've done a couple in my past rides. First one I didn't remove all the foam backing and it started sagging about 9 months later. All the others had all the foam removed and they're still in place a couple of years later.
I went to my local fabric shop and they carried stuff wide enough for the ones I've done

3M makes a spray adhesive that works pretty well. My '97 Ram's headliner started to fall and I repaired it with no problem.

when you do it work slowly. Don't get ahead of yourself and adhere small areas together working from one side to the other. just take your time and it will turn out great, i've seen people rush it and miss spots that start to sag. redoing your headliner is a great project, and a very doable one, but just take your time, and as stated above, remove all your old foam material.

Glue is your friend in this case :birgits_tiredcoffee and I didnt remove the entire foam board, I just used a razor knife to cut off the real thin outer foam stuff and then cut the carpet (with out measuring lol) inside the cab area. Just remember that the windshield is curved and the board follows that curb. (cut mine straight and blahhh :superhack:)
