Heated seat control module question

I need some help. I bought a 2015 Ram 1500 SLT, and the owner changed the seats and there's no heated seat control module. He couldn't remember what the seats came from, but a buddy of mine THINKs they're from a Laramie.

Was wondering if all control modules are the same and if I buy one for a 2015 Ram 1500 from Mopar Parts Giant, would it work?

@Mpgrimm2 might be able to help. He makes custom harnesses for mods like this and likely knows exactly what's needed to get it working (if it's OEM).

It's not really a mod, as the truck has the controls on the dash for it. Unfortunately the previous owner can't enlighten me on where the original module went.

When SKB mentioned Mpgrimm2 made harnesses for similar mods, he was suggesting that Mpgrimm2 has a very detailed understanding of the operation of this system and could explain the requirements better than most.

And he's usually very generous with sharing that knowledge.

All of the HSMs are generally the same in the 2013-2019 trucks; but vary due to options. There are different HSMs available on the below options:
Heated Front Seats
Heated Front & Back Seats
Heated Front & Cooled Front Seats
Heated Front & Cooled Front Seats and Heated Back seats

And...

Add the option of heated steering wheel to each of those, and you've got at least 8 HSMs to choose from.

5th Gen HSMs are different than 2013-2019 HSMs, which I believe are different than 2009-2012 HSMs.

You can get 'any' HSM you need from a RAM that has the options and year range you need and it should work.

There's a lot to this beginning with whether or not you actually have 13-18 compatible seats, factory installed wiring for seats (very unlikely with an SLT), and a compatible 8.4 radio/HVAC system to start (also unlikely with an SLT). All of which can be remedied.

Send me a message/conversion if you'd like to get things moving with what you need vs what you have.

PS: just because the dash switches are there doesn't mean they came with the truck from the factory and will work. Would need a typed out VIN (All CAPS) to pull your build sheet and check.

According to the build sheet it has the Heated Seats and Wheel Group...now to find a control module. The missus really loves the hrated seat...had them on the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Reach out to forum vendor @AllMoparParts with your VIN and they (Benny) can identify the correct PN module for your truck.

There's also some mentions of it in Roman217's post 2967 here. (Not sure if it's the same for your heated only seat set.)

If you search that p/n online, it shows endless results as being the correct module for the drivers heated/cooled seat and steering wheel for 2011-2024.

Live on the edge a little.
