Hey guys as title says I just bought my first Ram truck it’s a 2013 1500. The only thing I’ve done so far is give it a good cleaning (still smells like smoke something awful. I’ve used an x-smoke bomb on it twice and cleaned the carpets and seats with baking soda . I’m having it detailed in a few weeks to see if they can work some mojo on it). I’ve also added 2017 20” factory mags because I didn’t like the steel wheels. I have 2” lowering springs ordered for the back of it and have an airlift 1000Hd kit to put in it when I lower it. I also have the factory tow controller ordered for it because the Redarc tow pro elite I have won’t work with the 2013 Ram because of a wiring change Ram did in that year model truck. Btw I’m selling that tow pro elite with a Ram plug and play harness for 125.00 if anyone is interested.
I love this truck. It only has 54,000 miles on it and already had dual exhaust. It sounds great!

For cleaning smells and other stuff out of carpet I like to use liquid laundry detergent mixed with water in a spray bottle, spray it on till it's soaked in pretty good but not pooling, scrub it with a brush and suck it out with strong shop vac until it's almost completely dry, then leave the truck inside the garage with all the windows open and a portable fan running to dry it all out. Obviously won't work as well if you don't have a garage to park inside, then you better do it on a hot day out in the sun with all the doors open. Not a winter thing either if you live where it freezes.

Anyway to get smoke smell out the rest of the way those little ozone machines are pretty nice. Like this kind of thing link - I just have a $50ish one and it does great on all kinds of smelly areas. You don't want to be in the same room with it while it's running.

Hopefully a good detail will get rid of most of the sd moke smell. Some of that odor is probably in your head liner.

Odor bombs always temporary, Enzyme cleaners sometimes will get it done, you need a ozone machine on for at least 24 hours, put sticky plastic and cover dash and any plastic you don't want damaged or faded. You can use that carpt protector stuff for this, maybe try armor all and see if that holds up, but it can fade plastic. The issue with smoke, it gets in every crack and cranny, you need something that does the same. When you finish treating truck sometimes you need to make a manifold and treat hoses, depends on if you smell anything coming when you turn on air. You are looking for something like 5,000 units mg's of ozone or better, just don't get a mg 400 machine, call local detailing shops. Maybe 1,500 or 2,000 will work. They simply work, smoke is biological, these will break that down. Sadly most of the ozone machines stink like arced metal, they used to have a lot that used something different then metal to create ozone, but most of those are defunked companies due to cost. But, the metal smell you will have should dissipate in a couple weeks.

Welcome! I will also third the ozone machine as being the only way to get it out. Everything else is only temporally going to stop the smell.

Ha ha ...I thought I was the only guy who went to those (interior cleaning) measures!

Change the cabin air filter, if it has one.
