I cannot find the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor on my truck. It's a 01/04 build with the 325/600 Cummins, making it one of the first 2004.5 trucks. After looking through some other online sources, there seems to be at least 3 different APPS configurations in play between the early 2004 and the 2005 model years. Nothing is clear about "transitional" trucks like mine, and there seems to be some incorrect inofrmation as well.

It threw a P2122/2121 code a few days ago and I wish to inspect or replace the APPS. By most sources of information, this truck pre-dates the pedal-integrated APPS and a look under the dash reveals no sensors/wiring near the pedal, just a traditional-style cable running through the firewall. On the other side of the firewall, the cable runs to a bellcrank mounted to the forward left area of the engine. I pulled the cover; 3 cables meet at the pivot assembly ... accelerator, and presumably cruise control and transmission TV. There is no sensor or wiring that I can see adjacent, but there is a sticker that seems related to a sensor that reads "SERVICE NOTE: DO NOT ADJUST FACTORY PRESET CALIBRATION OF SENSOR OR LEVER SET SCREWS. REPLACE UNIT IF SERVICE REQUIRED." The sticker is on the casting of the bellcrank assembly. Again no wires to be seen, nor anything that looks like it could be adjusted or calibrated, contray to the advice on the sticker. Some have suggested looking for the APPS under the driver's side battery tray, but I believe that applies only to manual transmission trucks.

Please help my find this darn APPS! Thanks.
