Exhaust work is not done with a welder. It's done with a torch and wire.

Just about all of the service manuals I've seen in the last ten years or so say to disconnect the vehicle battery and in some cases the connectors on the PCM before welding anywhere on the vehicle. The high induced radiated EMF caused by electric welders can harm some sensitive electrical components, like MOSFETs. And there are plenty of them in today's vehicles.

Well after finally getting ahold of the dealer I had the truck towed to, they stated they can't even look at it until the end of May, begining of June, I need my truck sooner than that. Any ideas on if the Throttle body/position sensor would cause the no fuel pump/no spark issue? I'm willing to tinker a bi more if I need to, I just cant go that long without my truck.
It must be a terrible dealer if they are that backed up do you have any other dealers or private shops in the area... I work at a dealer and we are backed up a week TOPS like ever a month+ is un acceptable if you somehow do get a new truck dont get it from them thats for sure! .

Its the only ram dealer in about 70 miles or so, I don't know why they are backed up so bad. But I don't trust any of the other dealers, mainly because of the horrible rep most have in the area. the smaller shops aren't worth even going to, seeing as most aren't certified, and my service contract states they need to be certified in order to cover anything. So in all honesty, im half tempted to see if I can get it towed to another town. I know it will cost alot in a tow bill, but another Ram dealer said they can get it in as early as Wednesday. They also recommended I don't trade the truck in as it sits because what could be wrong with the truck could be minor, and I'd loose alot of the value...

If I had a proper diagnosis computer to hook up to, I'd probably be able to find out if I could fix it myself.

Seeing as there is a code for a faulty TPS, I might just pick up a new throttle body/Tps, and swap it out myself to see if that does anything. It might save me lost time and alot of money.. if not, it's only 100$

UPDATE!!

Well after just about two months of my truck being at the Ram dealer, I finally have resolution.

A few systems were faulted, mainly the PCM, TIPM, and the radio(now replaced with aftermarket)

going through the court system against the shop who did the damage, i don't really have high hopes, but you never know how the court can be, i do have statements from the dealer and tech that worked on the truck that the chances of the damages being caused by them welding on it improperly are high, but near impossible to determine.

So I have my truck back, and I'm more than happy, BUT I was warned by the dealer that more issues can pop up later on because of the damage that was done already. I guess when issues do start, or maybe if I can afford it sooner, I will just trade the truck in on a newer Ram. For some reason I am a fan of the new body style(19+)

I wouldn't get a V6, but if I can afford it, I will wait till the new V8 rams come out.
