why not use the gauges built in to the programmer seems like you would kill to birds with one stone don't really know why you would go with anything else's.....

Not all tuners have the monitors obviously but it is an option
There's some guys who just feel better with good old mechanical gauges

Again , not pushing you to a Quad , but it monitors ALL the must haves and is a great tuner IMO

Like myself I'm a long hauler when I do fire up the Cummins its rolling a minimum of 100 miles. If I'm hauling firewood or my travel trailer the last thing I want to do is put all my eggs in one basket.

Not knocking Quadzilla or Edge Juice but lets say I'm loaded up with 16,000# or more and Quadzilla or Edge dies and I lose my gauge do I risk burning a piston or do I tow it home. So like in my setup I've got a set of mechanical gauges and Edge Comp which if something was to go wrong with the Edge I would always have gauges.

It might be economic to do a combined setup of the Quadzilla / Edge but remember you putting all your eggs in one basket again...

As for me I'm odd duck in your group... Most of you live in town and putt back and forth to work. Me going grocery shopping could be a 300 mile affair... (No joke!)

Gauges were my personal preference and at the time the style Banks and Edge that I used did not have built in gauges. Besides the gauges on the pillar looked cool--IMHO.

Nope,not getting all bent out of shape here,I could care less what the OP wants or buys,again its his truck right?.Mearly posting from years of testing many of the products you people are using today on diesels and what I have seen throughout the years work in daily use/competition areas.Hope he finds what suits him and I am in complete agreement with Moparman on this one,mechanical gauges are the real deal that monitor in real time without gliches.I have seen way to many digital gauges skip or not read correct parameters which could lead to premature engine failures.

What's really nice about some of the electronic/monitor gauges is the extra functions that some people could find convenient (like te new CTS or vivid modules)
They have really come along way in the past 2-3 years I think
