From this page and mentioned on a couple of others.

I have a unique setup. Just trying to run the Hemi ECU for the accessories like power steering, transmission, Alternator ETC.
The engine is now a 4 cylinder Cummins but its a stand alone system and does not communicate with the trucks systems. I did this same swap into an 08 Dakota 8 years ago and its been an amazing truck. It also needed the original Dodge crank sensor to "wake up" the trucks ECU to run the A/C and stuff. I think the newer Ram 1500 ECU is just that much smarter to realize the tone wheel is not 100% correct. Right tooth count, wrong spacing.
I just got off the phone with Ed from Molnar and he thinks it could be the tone wheel but no one has messed with it the way I am. I sounds like you can look at it either way like Ed said, the early rings had wider teeth and shorter spacing, the later rings had narrower teeth and wider spacing.
I cant see a command OFF for ASD I can just see it drop out along with fuel pump relay in my AutoEnginuity software and cant find a crank sensor reading at all in the software, just an RPM signal which should be the same but no reading but then it only takes 3-4 seconds of cranking before the ASD relay opens so not a lot of time. I have disables all the other sensors like Cam sensor. Before pulling the Hemi out I did unplug and disable all the same sensors as I have unplugged and disabled and the Hemi still ran, crappy but it ran. The only thing I can see different is when the Hemi was running it had the correct tone ring but now I do not. The ECU scans clean for DTC's.
Crankshaft Reluctor Wheel Caution on 2009-2017 Dodge/Chrysler
5.7 & 6.4L Hemi Engines
The AERA Technical Committee offers the following information regarding the crankshaft reluctor
wheel on 2009-2017 Dodge/Chrysler 5.7 & 6.4L hemi engines.
Different style reluctor wheels have been used and there are two versions of the 58- tooth reluctor
wheel. This information should not be confused with the earlier 32-tooth reluctor wheel.
During disassembly, it is advised to pay close attention to the gear and measure the thickness of
the gear. Be careful not to bend the gear and support the crankshaft on V-blocks. All 2012 and
earlier 58-tooth reluctor wheels have a tooth width of .170" (4.318 MM). All 2013 and later
58-tooth reluctor wheels have a tooth width of .130" (3.302 MM) along with a dimple in the rear
face of the wheel.
Identifying the crankshaft before work is started will speed up the engine build process and
prevent incorrect parts ordering.
