Hemi trumps ecoboost

So i have a 2014 Crew Cab 4x4 HEMI with 2K miles... My buddy just bought a 2013 ECO Boost. We raced from a 50 roll and HEMI done work! Pulled him by two trucks and was still pulling when i let out... So is this driver mod issues or is the EcoBoost all hype and no bite??

I just noticed on the commercials today it says up to 22mpg.
My 4x4 is rated at 21.

Shouldn't that little v6 be able to do better than 1mpg better rating?

IMO, Ford has over-hyped their stuff, but being a turbo I bet with a tune the EcoBoost could whip the Ram easily.

Yeah Tune's Wake them up pretty good. He isnt getting but 14MPG (dash estimate) and im getting 19 (dash estimate)

Yeah I think they are putting down good numbers with a tune.

I'll be ready to see how much better the EcoDiesel does with some aftermarket parts when they come available.

I do seem to remember seeing some videos on Youtube with a tuned EB, it was sick.

If that new Titan comes out with a Cummins, we're all SOL. lol

I've driven an ecoboost and a hemi with 3.92's... I feel that the ecoboost is definitely faster, no question.... Personally I'd rather own a hemi, and I'm a ford (and ram now) fan. Less to go wrong and there are less issues. My next will be an Eco diesel though.

The EcoBoost is also quicker from a dig, if you started at 50, the low end grunt of the EB was negated. The Hemi is a top end motor, so you raced him at the right place.

My biggest issue is if my computer feels like playing along. Somedays, it drops it into 2nd and sh!ts n gets, other times, it just cruises along. I floored it, maximum warp NOW!

I never had that issue in my Ford (Lightning), pedal down, message received, Warp 9.9 ENGAGE! (I do miss that truck!)

What gears does your buddys eco have?
My buddy has a 13 eco with just about all te bolt ons they have on the market for them and its fast, i have to put my drag radials on to beat him from a dig, but with my 35s on and about a 30 roll i can barely edge him out. his truck has nothing but low end after about 3800-4000 rpms the truck just starts falling on its face until it shifts

Turbos are great until they $hit the bed. Remember, Ford is the same group that ran a turbo on the 4 Cylinder Mustang--and drank the whole sump dry when the bearings frequently failed.
Yes that was the 80's, but if you plan to hold your vehicle for awhile, do you really want another piece of wear and tear subjected technology in your daily driver?

Engines can last forever--not so much little toys.

Until their weak rear end gives out due to additional power. MUCH of that going on.

My neighbor has a tuned EB with 4 inch exhaust.. sounds like crap but man that thing moved. he cant launch it unless hes in 4x4. that thing pulls like crazy, and the tune locks up the converter when it shifts so it nails you again but the power falls off fast. I know he would destroy me tho, stock for stock tho the Hemi and th EB are pretty much the same but the Hemi pulls through the whole power band much better I think.. which is weird because normally boosted motors go until the gear runs out..

I've just got to say that Tremble or what ever it is, got spanked every time it's pulled next to my little truck.
Don't beleive the hype, next to our hemi's modded a little, we run off and leave them.

Well once tuned it will be a show down to see whos faster.. I think think he may win but it wont be by much, I know ill get killed on the launch I got 3.55's... I think he has 3.92's

I'd like to see a race where he can actually get traction. I've got a buddy with a pretty modded Ecoboost, once I finish my mods we'll see how I do. I really wish TCM tuning was out for the 8 speed.
