I am going to be bed lining my bumpers and I’m debating between Herculiner or Dupli-Color bed armor. Does anyone have experience with these and can give input? I was originally going to do a rustoleum spray on but have since decided not to because I want a rougher texture. I’ve read those are just like a textured paint. If anyone can give some input and help me decide I would appreciate it!

Wasn’t my question. If I’m going to spend that much I might as well order the UPOL raptor liner kit for less. This is just temp until I order my fab fours.

I’ve used both. I like the duplicolor. How ever I hand mixed it and it was chunky as $h** the first layer. The second, third and fourth layer I used my drill to mix it and it turned out a beautiful after that. I’ve done a 5th layer just on the bed floor and still looks good. The herculiner turned out good with just hand mixing. The most important thing tho is PREP. Spent hours upon hours on the duplicolor on prep and it’s taken everything thrown at it. The herculiner I only used the provided scuff pad and wiped down with prep spray and blew out with air. Had some small chips after a bed full of junk fire extinguishers and some bricks.

I purchased one duplicolor kit plus extra quart and one spray can. For prep I used two prep spray cans, 5 large scuff pads, air compressor to blow out and what was left of the prep spray and one more pass with the air compressor. The roller they provided was kinda junk. Buy a better one or just use the brush they provide and get a few small ones and bigger ones.

Awesome thanks! I was leaning towards the Herculiner just because of price, but you get what you pay for.

When I got them both at o’rileys they were both marked as 89.99. However the duplicolor rang up as 69.99 ( I’m not sure why or how, it was the last duplicolor on the shelf here in the Yuma store) however the extra quart was around 32.99 and the spray can was 12.99. Now I got all of that because I was doing my bed. Check amazon also. The neat thing with duplicolor is that they offer just a clear bed spray also. I plan on doing a coat on the lower side of my rockers that you can’t see without getting on your knees to see.

At oreilys they have the Herculiner quarts for 29.99 while duplicolor is 39.99. I’m just doing my bumpers so I think that’s all I’ll need.

They both are good products with the right amount of prep!

Herculiner for sure! Make sure you get an extra quart just in case. I'm glad I got it because I needed it when I was putting on the second coat.

You can make a rougher duplicolor texture pressing the valve only half way down, this will create droplets.
As you take off the bumpers to do a good job you may ask the local rhino lining / line-x shop how much they charge your just to spray the bumpers if you bring them already prepared and ready to spray.
Price will be a bit higher but you MAYBE avoid to make a mess and your work looks not so good....

Also, i am not sure how good the paint will stick to cromed surfaces as they are very slick. You may check for 2nd hand bumpers or trade yours.

Everything RamAZ mentioned is on the money. I used herculiner for my bed and it came out nice. When we got our new truck it came bedlined and it was way smoother compared to my diy job. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't used a drill to stir it but it hurt to walk barefoot on it.
Good luck and post some pictures when you're done!!
