Hey Everyone!

I just purchased my first RAM truck, and thought I'd drop in to see what information I could find here. I'm coming over from a 2001 GMC Sierra. That truck has been awesome, but 3 years ago I purchased an RV, and I've been pushing it's limits for awhile now. When Dodge came out with the 4th generation trucks in 2009 I liked the looks of them, and told myself then that my next pickup would be a RAM. So, I bought a 2012 2500 Heavy Duty with the 5.7 Hemi about a week ago. I've already taken it on a trip from Ft Worth Texas to Illinois, and then back to Phoenix. I love it so far, but have to admit that it rides ROUGH! I expected that though, so I can't fault it for that. I need a heavy duty truck to haul that trailer, and that just goes with the territory...

I'm planning on adding WeatherTech floor liners up front, and I'd like to convert the shifter to the console model. (The truck came with the console, but for some reason it came with a column shifter.) Is it possible to do this conversion? The reason I ask is because it seems that all the 2500 series trucks I've seen with the factory console seem to have the column shifter. Is there any particular reason for that, or any reason I can't do it?

Thanks,

Doug
