I just got a set of hids from hidkit.com it came with the harness with a relay but the directions said nothing about using the harness when installing them. I installed them without the harness just as the directions stated and they seem to work just fine, no flickering or anything. Wondering if anyone knew what the harness was for and how to install. Also the harness had no connectors that matched my stock headlight connectors. (stock connectors have 3 verticle spades and everything in that harness is horizontal.

The harness i have has a battery ground cable on it, like i said the only connector that will connect to my factory bulb connection goes directly to my ballast. Doesn't power come from the stock light connector? Why do they also need connected to the battery?

Because sometimes the bulls don't get full juice. That's the problem I'm running into note. I'm ordering my relayed harness kit tonight.

Also, I had zero problems for the first week or two. Didn't think I needed the writing kit either..... Until now!

yea make sure you use the harness and connect it to the battery and all that good ****. It will work or you may end up locking the ballast and you will be screwed $$

I got the harness figured out and put on tonight. They seem to work just fine but the relay makes a lot of noise when the engine is running and the lights are on. Is this normal or is something wrong?

35W ECONOMY SEMI-SLIM HID KITS - Retro-Solutions Store

66.99 (plus shipping) - and they are made to work with your truck. No ******** harness from some company that doesn't know a Ram from a Volvo.

Thanks for the link! The stock bulbs on my 2012 duals are horrible. The light output on my 2000 Volvo was so much better. I'm going to install HIDs in the spring when its warm enough to work outside.
Are the bulb caps worth getting/ any good?

Don't get the capped bulbs in the headlights, only in the fogs (for our trucks that is).

The capping is only used for lights that don't have a defector built in (that little cover over the bulb).

Also - when you go to order, use code "jj" to get 10% off of applicable items. (unfortunately the economy kits do not apply for the 10% off)

Awesome. Thanks man. I was looking at getting one of the nicer sets just to get a little extra life out of them.

bingo! the lifetime warranty is a nice perk too. ;)

Just don't forget to select your truck in the options so you get the right harness. :005:

What sets Retro's harness' apart from the others out there. The Ebay seller that I got my hids from will sell them to me for $10 (normally $15).
