That is, however, the plus kit and not the ultra kit.

I had asked them on the same thread about the difference between 14 and 15

I'm running HIDs right now. Thought about trying LEDs but never did. I think another big factor with this the headlight housing. As in a housing designed for LEDs or a set of projectors designed for HIDs.

I'm curious about that DDM kit for the 15s id love to see a little more info/pics of it.

It's nice to hear that a company is saying that it is only plug and play but if you have a 15 or 16 I get nervous.
I've seen too many times that we have the same year and one works but on the other it does not. I wish it was that easy as it worked on every truck but I always plan on it not working then get happy when it does.
Case in point with the reverse led's that were a guarantee to work plug and play(I'm talking bulbs) and they didn't work on mine yet worked on multiple other members.
Not trying to throw salt but instead give the "what may work on yours may not work on others". Btw glad you got it dialed in and working nicely...

DDM Tuning: HID and LED Lighting

Thats the link for the Plus canbus kit, and they have basically all the information you would need.

I absolutely agree. Newer vehicles are VERY picky with electronics, considering that pretty much every aspect of new vehicles integrate into the vehicles computer systems. Unfortunately, with the so called plug and play kits, without people buying them and trying them, its hard to say that its a for sure guaranteed fitment. I cant speak too loudly about most products out there, but I can say that every set of DDM HID kits i have bought, have been plug and play, and i never needed to worry about lights cutting off while driving down the road. I have installed some lighting where relay harnesses were absolutely required, due to the lack of a "plug and play kit" but ive never had one of their plug and play kits not work. There are some exceptions to SOME applications, but they actually specify which kits and which vehicles will need relay harnesses, capacitors, etc etc.

I installed the same brand of LED lights on my father in laws 08 grand cherokee, and his were absolutely not plug and play, I had to install a relay harness(which I actually purchased through DDM). After I sent him pictures of the new HID setup I have now, he wants them for his GC.

Which reverse lights did you use in yours? I have the phillips for reverse lights in mine, and while it does give a bulb out message, they still function properly. I did also purchase today, the canbus error eliminators for my license plate bulbs and reverse lights, as both of them give the bulb out message. Minor annoyance, but I dont know of a bulb out there that is designed for a plate light or reverse that has an error eliminator built into it.

Yea, I was happy with the led's for a while, but then I started having problems with cooling fans going out, and light output just wasn't there.

When these first started poping up that was the first thing I thought about. Those fans remind of the tiny fans on computer graphics cards. Yeah it says there waterproof and shock tested but I just thought that fan wouldn't last long.

DDM Tuning should send me a sample for evaluation purposes. If it truly works they'd be making a killing from 2015 truck owners.

Yea, i was very curious about it as well, and two months initially with zero issues, even running them in the fog lights. Thru the touchless car washes that spray the underbody, and no issues, then all of the sudden, problems.

Sounds too good to be true. Who's gonna try it ?

I would be very interested to see how it works out on a 15 as well!

I just traded a Chevy for my new 2016 Laramie. In that truck I had 6K HIDs in the projector low beams and LED for the refector high beams. Also had LED fog lights. The problems with HID high beams, is one....it is illegal..tongue in cheek..to put HID in reflector housings. You can put them legally in projector housing...at least in the state of Georgia. Second issue with HID high beam is they do have to warm up. When you flick your high beams off for a oncoming car and then flip them back on HID require 5-10 seconds to get bright. A LED bulb is bright as soon as the electrons hit it. You can put a LED bulb in a reflector housing legally. That is the setup I like. The Laramie has the projector low beam and reflector high so I will be setting up same way as my Chevy was. I am 57 years old and find that I actually see better with the 6K spectrum. This is to individual taste and eyes of course. The 6K lights do light up reflectors and road signs in the distance much better than 5K or 4300K bulbs. My 2cents worth on the subject.

OH..forgot a part. I was told to never, never put the dust cap back on a LED bulb with a fan per the OPT7 representative. You will fry the control module and burn the fan out in very little time. The bulb is supposed to seal the housing so no dust/moisture gets in. I had not trouble with this on my Chevy.

Haha, yea, hopefully they work out on the 15 with no issues whatsoever. It seems like they know exactly what the difference between the 14 and 15 are, and i can only assume they have tested it, but time will tell.

I can respect your opinions between the various types of lighting. Yes, HID lighting is best suited in a Projector type housing, however, most halogen housings of recent years have come a long way in reducing light scattering above a certain point.

In my circumstance, the HID lighting actually produces LESS scatter above the main focal beam of light.

For example:

Left is factory halogen, right is LED

12483636_10205634142909607_125874858_n_zpsv4p7mzb0.jpg

This picture has HID in the top(headlights) and LED in fog lights(bottom) and was also taken with my truck parked further away(and you would see more light scatter parked further away)

12443244_10205634143069611_846583405_n_zps2bqzuq58.jpg

There is a LOT less scatter from the HID vs the factory Halogen bulbs.

The led bulbs just did not suit my taste, and from a light output standpoint, the LED bulbs had a claimed 2000 lumens per bulb, while the HID has 3400 lumens per bulb. Thats a LOT more effective light output comparing the two. I do however realize, that there are LED bulbs out there with more output.

I wonder when Ram changed their electrical system for the 2015 model year. I remember on the other forum someone purchased a pair of canbus reverse led bulbs that didn't give me a light out message but did the other person which also had a 2015. Items were purchased from same seller at about the same time frame.
Mine is built Dec 2014.

according to DDM they changed the bulb check system...

I know i installed the phillips reverse and license plate lights, and i got two messages for both sets of lights..

I just came in from installing the canbus cancelers on both the plate lights and reverse, and no more bulb out message. Kind of nice now, every time I start my truck up, I wont get three messages for low beam, reverse and plate light out. Lol

I can understand that, however, even with the dust caps left off, the bulbs I used on mine still touched the side of the housing. I just wasn't impressed with the fitment of them, not to mention the light output.

I got my lights from Enlight(one of our vendors). After I sent them an email they changed their led's because of this. Great cs as they sent me a different pair that didn't need any error eliminators.
I also purchased my hid's from retroshops, JJ. I can't praise him enough and his great customer service as well. He stands by his items and has a plethora of knowledge.

Is anyone going to buy the DDM Canbus Plus kit for their 2015 Ram and post results or am I gonna be the guinea pig again ? Hahah

I'm willing to accept a set for educational purposes and won't charge for the install.[emoji12]

I'll donate a relay harness to you if they fail...

That's very kind of you, I've got a feeling the ddm kit don't work man. I'm tempted to message those 2015 owner that responded on their Facebook page for an update lol

I've even broadened my Google research horizons by including other chrysler 2015 vehicles when researching hid and canbus and flicker kit.

So far the only solid one I've seen from the jeep community is the diode dynamics kit, but they also take a **** after a year or so as did another well known brand used on here.
