Its not that I dont want to save that much. That is a ridiculous statement and you would have to b a fool to not want to. All Im saying is (if you look at the comparisons of the two trademans), by the time you add the options , airfare, gas, and (my) time it really isnt such an atttractive deal. 39k vs 34k. Now add to the 34k 2k in missing options=36k +airfare /gas=37k? I would have to take time off from work. I have weekends off and I make double time on sunday which i always work. So, in reality its really like only saving 2k tops and on top of that i would have over 2000 miles on my new truck already!If it was a deal closer to me, say NCarolina and they fly u out there.Then maybe its worth it. Im not going to get the as low as price. i already talked to them about that. U can get the sale price though. And on top of that, what if you get there and there is a scratch or something on the truck? This has been stressful. I was eyeing another truck I saw in OK which was a leftover diesel dually tradesman for 38k! I know its a "little different", but for the price!I called the salesman and they even sent me an email that said that is the price. Now its on there for 41k! What the !@#$ . I have to call tomorrow about that. Another one in MD was 40k on cars.com but 43k on the dealers site. Another WTF! I have to call about those 2 tomorrow. I hate when they play games. I should have a new or used/new truck to me by the end of this week or at least ordered one. Thanks for listening :)

Wasn't trying to ruffle your feathers but my point is that if you can even save $1K when it is all said and done, to me, it makes sense to buy from any dealer no matter their location.

I know what you're saying. There are other factors involved. Plus some people's time is money. That is across the country for me cause I'm in ny.

Hey CC... where is that dealer in OK? If it's in my area I could try and find some time to go buy and snap a couple of pics for you. Maybe see what the deal is with it. There's 3 or 4 dealers around me... maybe it's one of them.

AutoTrader.com Mobile:: New 2014 RAM 3500 Tradesman

This one has few more options
AutoTrader.com Mobile:: New 2014 RAM 3500 Tradesman

The drive im sure isn't worth it texas to newyork is crazy but it's just a idea what's out there.

If I would have known I could get a dually diesel for less than a 2500 diesel I would have went that route, go big or go home I guess. A 2500 is way overkill for me right now so a 3500 dually would be way overkill. But it would be nice to have...

I made the mistake of not buying enough truck. That will not happen again. dd (diesel dually), that's what I would name her...,not for bra size Either :) you'll never have to look at weights again. With a fiver toy hauler I figure I won't be overkill. It will only add stability especially on windy days. And then I could be one of those guys in the rv forums telling everybody to get a dd :)

I'm still a advocate for not getting a diesel unless you need one. I have had a diesel my dad currently has a diesel they are just a hand full of work. Double on oil changes fuel filter more often they have to warm up they aren't happy when it's cold replacement parts are triple been there got that sticker. I will stick to my hemi even when I get my land and need a HD truck for tractors and horse trailers ect, I will be running a gasser.

The fuel filter would be about the only difference in cost while under warranty. The oil change on the 6.4 is about the same cost as a diesel. The worst part would be the lack of heat in the winter time. Going by fuelly I would pick up about 5 mpg's so that would be a plus.

Shhh be very very quite and maybe they won't see it :) sorry just trying to make loveracing feel better the diesel is by far better for pulling and little jump in mpg but I feel it gets eaten up fast is all Im saying not trying to turn this into a 6.4 vs 6.7 debate because that is never ending its based apon needs IMO.

Ok.Let's go. Around here it's about .80 more per gallon. The mpg will not make up for that. I don't know Jack about diesels and never had one. I know the Cummins is a solid proven motor. I read scary things and good things about the 6.4 trying to haul 13000 pounds + I've read only good things about the cummins performance Wise. But, several cons about maintenance cost wise. Plus the emissions crap. For my needs I would be fine with either . I went and test drove one and they start right up and ran fine. This was when it was around 0 degrees farenheit. They are not plugged in at the dealers so......

My dads is a 06 powerstroke already a ding there they are riddled with problems and the 6.7 has been in production sense 07 getting most of the Bugs worked out they are the last to go to the DEF but now has is I beleieve. Batteries there's twice as many fuel filter is more often, I'm not sure what the 6.7 is but my old powerstroke was 15qt oil change and the injectors are like 6 or 700 each witch is 1 example of replacement parts being 3 times as much and it's a 8k upgrade(I know with the deep discounts right now it's more like 2-4k) In all likely hood you won't have Any issues until 3-4 years old (batteries) or until your over 100k miles so it'll take time for the bugs to show them selfs. As diesels get older they will start in the cold that's no issue but they will need to warm up and idel ruff with out the block heater. Those are the negatives along with diesel fuel being more expensive. The pros they hold there value way better than a gas engine especially in a HD truck, they have more power than you know what to do with and the main componets the block Pistons rods any mechanical part can handle some serious abuse and not brake. I will also add they are a must for pulling heavy loads at altitude.

Oh man! Idk, I found out yesterday that I'm most likely going to be taking a pay cut. It could be up to 10k. its not definite but it is likely. I won't know for sure until a few months. I have to rethink my finances and figure out what the hell I'm going to do. The thing is I might still be able to go new, but it would be tight. What really sucks is I sold my truck and need a vehicle now. I have been looking at used trucks a little harder now. I just want to get something. They told me the 6.4 is on restriction too now meaning a longer wait when ordering. I'm borrowing someone's car right now. uggh!

We are nearing the end of the week what's your thoughts right now?
