You got that right on the Jeep. I have a bad car habit and go through a lot of vehicles. In owning over 120 cars/trucks in my life, NONE have had a stronger market than a Jeep. When I was looking for a wrangler, in a LOT of cases on my way to look at a Jeep, the seller would call me half way there to tell me it just sold. It is absolutely ridiculous. I finally gave up and bought a new one. Got tired of it 6 months later and sold it for more than I paid for it brand new!! No kidding!! Jeeps appear to be like crack to people. They cannot get enough of them and people are willing to pay stupid money for them all the time. I’ll never forget that market.

Bought mine brand new. Had it almost 4 years exactly, only 20ish thousand miles on it so it had that going for it, but TRADED IT IN for $5k less than I bought it for. 4 years later!

Have you checked what the dealer would offer you for your jeep yet? You might be pleasantly surprised. I know I was. They offered me what I thought I might be lucky to sell it outright for.

And yes, full size short boxes are tough to find in a half ton. You cant get the super short one in a 3/4 ton though.

Correct, i DONT want the super short (pointless, in my opinion, 5ft something bed) so when I found out that the F250,2500, etc ONLY offers 6ft and up, that got my attention so here we are now... haha

You should take your Jeep to Carmax. I’ll bet you’d be surprised.

I might be doing this at the end of the month. It's sleeting here so I haven't had time to clean it up and get it posted for sale even - not digging these cold short days!

No surprise there. That’s a great deal for you after 4 years of use. What also kills me on my Jeep was that my experience was in 2013. I paid $22700 OTD for it. It was a 2013 Wrangler sport. Look what they cost today! FCA saw a cash cow and jumped on for the full ride. And did it with great success too.

My JK was ordered from the factory and stickered for $41k if I remember right. A similar set up now from FCA is in the 50s i believe. so yes! the prices have skyrocketed!

Damn, my ‘12 wrangler was a lot more than that hahahahahaha (4 door rubicon). Cant remember the sticker, but paid something like $36k and some change.

Have had about 5 or 6 hits on it, all tire kicking. I thought about it and decided I’d just take the guess work out. Dropped the price to $45k FIRM. I’ll let you guys know how it goes. That’s what Carmax was willing to buy it for, plus the tax savings I’d get in trading, and a little bit on top to make it worth my time to deal private party. We’ll see what happens. If a Jeep I like pops up I’ll just do the trade but between now and then if someone wants it I’ll let it roll.

Just an update for you guys. Had a few more hits on it. Not a single person has actually came to look at it. All tire kicking. It’s a fantastic truck and I’ve been driving it so no harm I suppose but general rule is people don’t really want to pay anything more than wholesale for it so I guess the used market isn’t really too strong on them.
