I have a 1998 ram 1500 sport 4x4 and I have 33s on it now and they rub the control arms alittle so I want to lift it so I can stick the tires out further. So how do I make 3in coil spacers for the front? And if anyone had dimensions that would be awesome!!

It's not the height of the tires that's causing them to rub on the control arms. You need wheels with more back spacing to keep from rubbing there

Also, it would be safer, and probably cheaper in the long run, to just buy a leveling kit from one of out vendors instead of trying to make one yourself

if you are rubbing the control are your issue is not enough backspacing on the wheel/slash too wide of a tire and leveling the front will not fix the problem.

oh and welcome to RF

As simple as it would seem to make a coil spacer (basically a flange) there is some geometry behind it and although I love makeing things like this its not something I would trust
Also if your truck is 4x4 I wouldnt go more the 2.5" that extra .5" will cause you more problems then you would think
Check out Hell Bent Steel spacers, theyre a vendor here
I did alot of research before purchasing a spacer before I was a member here and every thing I saw pointed me to them
It's probably cheaper to buy from them rather then to buy the material yourself anyway

a leveling kit is just the spacer on the front, exactly want your talking about. If you go to the 3" it messes with the geometry of the front end components, even 2.5" is close

Because when you use spacers they pull the axle back towards the cab and off centers it to the drivers side, the higher you go te worse it is
When you go more the 2.5" it leave your driveshaft on a harsh angle and will cause driveline vibrations

A2.5" spacer isnt 2.5" either
Say your a 19 yr old welder, you making atleast $12 an hour, you spen $40 in material and 4 hours cutting and welding your already over the $80 HBS charges for a 2.5 computer welded spacer that was designed by an engineer and yours isn't even powdercoated.
With 33" tires you shouldn't have height problems....
