I can't tell if it's glitchy or i am just not use to it.

Sometimes I feel it shift unexpectedly or rev up quick in first. Is this normal? There's 200 miles on it

I don't have one, but from what I read.

The 8-speed will shift a lot to try and find the right RPMs for the best efficiency

I have the 8sp. And it seems normal to me But im a VW guy and my GTI trans shifts fast just like our trucks so it was a easy getting used to it. Im at 800 miles.

The salesman told me that the 8 speed would learn how you drive for the best power and efficiency. Mine felt a little strange at first, but now, either I am used to it, or it knows how I drive. I think it is a little of both.

The 8 spd on my 2014 works great and doesn't search needlessly...I am very used to 8 spds though...my ISF also has one, as does my wife's Cayenne diesel.

Love my 8 speed. Mine was the same when I first got it. Wasn't too sure if I liked it but was told the same thing. To let it learn your driving habits. So 3500km later it shifts really nice now and to the way I drive.

From a reputable tuner on another site:

"It's learning the adapts in the tcm. Basically the tcm has to learn the clutch volumes and pressures for each trans. That's how it compensates for build to build variation. "

I have 1,800 on my truck and it does shift a little early and snappy when new. Give it a few miles it will smooth out for sure

The 8spd trans are nice. I drive the rams at my dealership with them and they are always great feeling.
