How is cv joint connected to axle?

I replaced my driver side cv joint today. It was pretty simple. I got it in place and tightened the nut down. But the end that goes on the intermediate shaft doesn't stay in place. I can easily slide it back. What is supposed to hold it in place? I need to replace the intermediate shaft next. The splines are worn away. Is that why it doesn't stay in place? The old cv axle stayed in place no problem.

Also...I want to know what parts there are in the axle. That are in direct contact with the axle shaft. Such as bearings and seals and clips. I want to replace it all while im in there. (Just the driver side though)

I just want a diagram or a parts list. I want to collect the parts if I can. And get it done this weekend.

Is this diagram somewhat accurate? I got it off of the mopar parts website itself. I would need parts 2, 5, 3, and 7?
