Just curious. I was taking pics of my rear spring mounts for another reason. I can't get over how much rust there is, surface stuff but a lot.
its a 2015. I don't remember my 2014 having much at all.

That looks about right. I had the same amount of rust the first year with my Jeep. I learned from that and fluid filmed my RAM and so far is holding up well.

It's kind of hard with just one pic, and it's pretty subjective opinion. It looks kinda like mine, but mine is an 01 with 206K on the clock.

I think this depends a lot on where you are located and how much salt/winter driving your truck has seen. I have a 14 that I bought with 20K miles on it and the amount of rust underneath is pretty irritating. I wash the undercarriage weekly - obviously the PO did not. I thought about getting it undercoated but not sure there is any point now because the rust has already started.

None here also, you will get conflicting answers to this. I'm also in Texas and when I owned my shop, you could tell the vehicles that came from up north. The worst I EVER worked on was an old Fiat Spyder (I think I broke every bolt I touched on that POS) that came from Ohio the rust under that one was unbelievable.

Rust is bad here in southern Ohio, salt is very corrosive at warmer temperatures and when you get 15 degrees out with salt roads one day and then 60 degrees two days later it just destroys cars and trucks. You have have to be vigilant about washing especially when the weather warms up.

I live in GA and we don't have all that salt and sand crap. But my driveshaft has a layer all over the whole thing. I figure I might as well drive it until it breaks. Then, I can get a brand new rear end OR a brand new truck from RAM!

Does the frame have any type of coating on it from the factory ?
Womder if it would be worth the time to coat it wit POR the first week a person gets a new truck.
I did my 06 Z71 frame with just rattle cans in flat black And painted the drums and calipers and that sure did help keep it looking newer longer.

last pic of rust.

The truck hasn't even seen snow or been in snow. Is this normal.
