I have a 2011 Ram 1500 with dual zone
When you first start the engine and even when the engine is not running I get a tilling or knock from behind the dash board. I have pulled of the center console and replaced the two actuators behind there. I also replaced the one behind the glove box. I have changed the resistors to the fan. I even replaced the heat and ac control unit in the center console. I pulled out the fan and hot wired it with the battery and it spun freely. All parts are Mopar parts. With each replacement it still raps or klicks.
There is nothing else to change in the system. I moved the leaver by hand to see if the doors might have broken and thy all feel fine. I didn’t change the actuator connected to the fresh air door because I can see it working fine. While driving the fan will blow according to the settings but most of the time it’s on the lowest regardless of the settings. I’m really at a loss with this, I even asked my local ram service dept. for help and they said they don’t do that anymore, let me speak to a mechanic

I also have a 2011 RAM 1500 with the same door cycling problem after engine start It lasts for about 30 seconds. After about 45 seconds the blower goes to minimum speed (not stopped) almost exactly 5 minutes then the blower operates correctly until the next restart. Occasionally when the blower goes to minimum, the door cycling starts again for a few seconds.
I suspect computer issues as the cause but plan to replace the actuator motors with mopar parts this time but suspect it won't help as you did that.

If you have AlfaOBD, you can go into climate control to do a recalibration (which would be my very 1st step) of the actuators and actually test the stuff instead of employing the parts cannon.

Stop changing parts without justification, and spend more time analyzing.

What is the impact to your mystery noise when adjusting the recirculation control or fan speed?

Sometimes when I shutoff my truck and continue to listen to tunes or read my phone, I hear irregular knocking or clicking from within the dash.

These noises only last a few seconds and I rarely notice them unless sitting inside the small garage/barn in my avatar.

While driving the fan will blow according to the settings but most of the time it’s on the lowest regardless of the settings.

Could you please clarify the above statement?
Are you suggesting the fan is not following the setting you have adjusted for and remains at low speed?

Does the HVAC have an Auto setting and if so, does the mystery noise change when toggling the Auto fan speed state?

The parts cannon approach is typically a huge waste of time and money, and rarely solves the problem.

And just because we read about another individual solving his mystery by changing this part or that, is no guarantee that you will experience the same success.

Does your HVAC have an Auto setting?

"almost exactly 5 minutes then the blower operates correctly until the next restart"

Are you able to manually adjust the fan speed during this 5 minute period?

Hi there. Thanks for responding.
Yes, it has an auto setting. No, the fan speed switch has no effect until the fan comes back up, then I can adjust fan speed at will.
