I love JL subs....especially the W6's but the Morel Ultimo is in a league of it's own. Quite possibly the worlds most perfect sub. Talk about power handling....the damned thing has a 5" voice coil.

Gonna swap this in and change the HU to a Kenwood Excelon DNN990HD with the PAC interfaces for steering wheel controls and stuff.

I listened to both...something about the Ultimo I just liked better. Can't really explain it other than it sounded perfect even playing down to 16hz on a pipe organ track. That's what sold me.

How does your custom enclosure mate up to the Ultimo?
Any changes have to be made? Sealed right?

The Ultimo likes a larger than recommended enclosure according to what I've read. Then again so do the JL subs so the enclosure is 1.25 ft^3 sealed and I'll be adding a little Focal Blackhole Stuff for good measure. I think it'll work just about right.

I listened to a pair of the 10's this weekend in 625 ft^3 sealed each....those are what was digging down to 16hz without a hint of trouble. That's friggin impressive. I listened to a 12 in a little over 1 ft^3 sealed and it was equally impressive. I'm hoping for good results.
