I need a good Mechanic for Cams!!!!

We’re only expensive when customers want cheap. We are very fair but nothing is cut because we are trying to save money if it needs it we do it and it doesn’t come back. Also we have had a lot that need engines recently. First thing we do is pull the vvt if there is metal on it it gets an engine not rebuilding a contaminated engine. So yes when someone comes in and they googled cam and lifters should be $3k and we tell them it’s over double were the bad guys

Seriously? This is a big job, not for the faint-hearted, and not for a beginner IMHO. You need proper tools and knowledge to tackle this job.

Obviously, you have plenty of wrenching experience to say "it's not hard". Kudos to you for doing it all in one day, you must know what you're doing.....

It's not hard. You just take the bolts out and put them all back in the right spot with the correct torque.

I did mine a year ago, but like @Quick_Shifter said pull the VVT Solenoid if its full of metal swap the engine. Mine was clean, I pulled every other bearing just to be sure.

Oil Test are looking great almost a year and a half later.
