I need bodywork advice

How did it happen? I made a "comprehensive" claim last year when backing over a loose tow strap pulled down on my bed and dented er up real good. I'm in Canada too and made a comprehensive claim, it got approved and all I had to do was pay my deductible.

I already have a $5000 claim from 2014, this isn't going thru insurance

I don't know about up there. But here in America we don't pay for ****** work and just accept it. If it's not to your standards, how they say it will turn out... Then that's their loss.

lol well I'm not getting divorced, fired, or sick but I am going to go into about $20,000 of totally unexpected debt this year and I'm someone who stresses out huge over a couple thousand on a credit card. What really ****** me off is that it's effectively crushed any plans I've had for the next couple of years+ until I can pay it all down. no purchases of pretty much anything. You only live once and to spend a few precious years of your life living like a monk just to climb out of debt F-ing sucks.

Yep I agree!
Within the past two weeks, it started like this:
My dog died and took a part of me with him.
My divorce paper work was kicked back and was supposed to be over in Aug.
My tenant gave me a 30 days notice, 6 months early... And fukkkd up my house.
And to top it off... My brand new wheels dont fit my 6" lift thats sitting in the garage.

Damn dudes!! Best of luck with things!!! Roadshow, can the windows wait? My house has dual pane windows with moisture in most of them. I just bought the house, but knew this going in (and talked them down) and it's more of a long term fix, would be nice to get it done, but it's something that will wait for now.

Some happier news today after stressing out over this all week. based on your feedback here I decided to take another attempt at finding a place that will repair rather than replace the panel. My regular mechanic who I've dealt with for the last 15 years put me onto his favorite body shop so I went there today. He'll repair it for Cdn$1800 cash deal no tax. Said he can pull it out because I'm just skirting the edges of the bodyline, will grind it smooth and use filler, and repaint (properly by removing the tail light and bumper assy instead of just taping).

They've been in biz here for 30 years and guarantee their work for the lifetime of the vehicle. I'm happy with that, she goes in the shop Feb. 15. I feel a lot better about this than having to drop $3200 for bodywork on a truck I've only had for a year! Lesson learned, I drive a lot more carefully now, this was a humbling lesson on overconfidence.

Awright, sorry. But like many others you cut out the ******** stuff and pay your need to stuff and do it. If your crazy in debt and it hurts bad, forget about trivial things. It's a dent. Fix the house, forget about the truck.

Sorry. I'm broke as **** too. Till summer 18. Dog died last week. Cousin before Christmas, aunt two weeks back, Harley is down, snowing, no over time. Just getting a bit pissed off.
Just leave the dent. Do it later.

The best part about a ****** day is coming home to your dog. At least for me it was. Mine recently passed about a week ago, if you didn't already see that. I completely understand as well.
