Ok so I need help with polishing my exhaust tips. I've read instructions but it's not working :(

So they started like this, but worse(pic is of driver side, I've been working on passenger side)
-A07A-4D99-BB0F-928C1C226435-5601-00000356DBD8C437.jpg

Then used some #3 steel wool but as you can see it wasn't removing the concrete or whatever stuff
-7312-4B0C-B5A8-5EE5308D4EFA-5601-00000356D9076720.jpg

So used some copper pad to get it off

Then used #3 again to soften the copper scratches

Then #1

Then #0

Products(used water as lubricant)

As you can see the scratches aren't getting lighter(actually seem to be getting worse), and I know I'm supposed to use polish but I don't think that's gonna fill in the scratches. So what else should I try?

Those are all pretty heavy for chrome
000 will do what you need, hopefully the scratches arent to deep
I would also recommend getting a powerball/powercone and chrome polish to finish (I use a powercone for all kinds of stuff haha)

If you more concrete on the other tip try this rather then using a heavy steel wool

Crap wish I would've known about the vinegar and spoon trick. I'll use that on the other tip if it has any, thanks. Would get one of those balls/cones but they're like $15 I think. Trying to stay budget lol. So get some #00,#000, and #0000 steel wool to get lighter scratches? And then my metal polish(eagle one never dull) from there should do the rest?

Powerballs worth it! You can use it on all of your chrome and aluminum, I even use it for polishing clear coat haha definitly saves a lot of time IMO
You might be able to skip some of the "grits" but that's up to you

Never dull will work great

That's true...might pick one up. Would definitely help on the wheels. Think I'm gonna stop by harley davidson tomorrow and talk to the people there cause I mean who knows chrome better than people with a **** load of chrome on their bikes? Lol. Plus I have a bunch of chrome on my truck. Then I'll go pick up the wool depending on what they say

So get the scratches super light and then never dull?

A 2012 Deserves Double Walled Tips, $100 Plus a Tip but well worth it after you experience either rusted pitted chrome or burned up stainless. Valiant effort on the refurb and the guys gave you alot of good tips but I think at this stage the best would be to paint them with Black header Paint and call it a day.

Damn and I thought the factory ones were expensive. No way I would pay that much for some tips for a truck lol. But definitely not painting them black, I'll just stick them on the way they are

Well the first one still sucks after going all the way to 0000

But the other side all I had to do was rinse it off and then lightly use the 0000 to remove some carbon from the tip and clean it a little better than just by hand
