I need help...

Hey boys / gals, I need help. The old thread of "ABS/Brake light" has been viewed tons of time with the same result. Rear speed sensor,front wheel bearing,front ABS sensor ect...However, i did find that my rear speed sensor was rotted beyond repair and i cannot find a pigtail for it. However i can find one for a 1998 dodge ram with a new sensor. So i spliced and installed a new sensor (from a 1998 ) and pigtail...no change...but the lights would be intermitted along with the speedo...after more tracing i found a short from the ABS module to the rear sensor...it would send 12v...but the sensor wasn't getting 12v's. So i replaced the entire Dk Gr/ White wire from the bulk connector to the sensor. All the lights went off,i reset the computer (remove the (-) from the battery)...now i have no speedo....no codes..everything else works..no speedo. I need help!

The VSS uses 5vdc, you can damage the PCM and other modules by connecting 12vdc to that circuit. I would recommend reading your service manual to greater understand the circuits envolved.

X2. If you don't know what you are doing, it WILL get alot worse if you start supplying the wrong voltage to stuff.

I checked with my service manual and it stated that the Green w/white wire (+) is direct from the abs to the sensor. it doesnt tell me the voltage. Also ( no offence) ,i've only replaced the wire,i didnt add voltage to the circuit....im thinking that the sensor off the 98 doesnt jive with an 08...is there any places where i can get a new pigtail for a rear speed sensor for and 08.

The pigtails are often called "pigtail repair kits" The dealer has some kits (?), but to be honest this the first I have heard of anyone asking for the VSS connector. Salvage yard should be a good cheap source.

98 ram v10 speedo problem

hello i was reading some forms on here , i have a 98 ram v10 5 speed manual trans , i am having an issure , i have no speedo and odometer but the abs lite and brake lites are off? i changed the rear sensor over the rear axle still no luck and ideas?

None taken. Just notice you stated a 12v starting voltage and didn't see 12v at the sensor. Not knowing your knowledge I was just putting out the unknown to some and the obvious to others.
