Well, I was playing with AlfaOBD in a parking lot today with the engine running. After changing some data all of my warning lights came on, things were glitchy and my fuel gauge no longer works

So I changed it back and lone behold that didn’t fix the issue. So… I ordered a new (used) BCM.

I’m going to reset this one to what mine was factory but I don’t have the OEM configuration. Can anyone help with that?

Are you sure you changed everything back? If the truck still drives, drive it like normal for a few days and everything might come back to how it was.

There are some settings in Alfa that take a long time to start working again. A few drive cycles or days for example.

Worst case if nothing comes back, you should take the truck to the dealer and have them flash the BCM back to OEM specs. You shouldn't have to replace the BCM.

I’m actually not 100% sure.

I shouldn’t be messing with things right now to be honest. We’re trying to get my 18 month old “sleep trained” and I have Labrador (future hunting buddy) that I’m trying to get potty trained.

So…. I’m sleep deprived to say the least.

Thanks for the little boost of confidence. I went to my dad‘s truck today and exported his configuration to my laptop.

His truck is not exactly the same as mine, but it does have a lot of of the same features minus the trailer to module and power mirrors.

I wrote that configuration to my truck and it fixed the issue. Then I went back and changed a couple things to get my truck back to the same configuration and I think we’re golden.

My back up camera still does not work, but I read that may take a few days to come back

Glad you got it.

This was a perfect example of why I always tell people that the very 1st thing you do with AlfaOBD is make a backup of the BCM configuration BEFORE making any changes.
Yeah, I usually live THEN learn. It’s expensive usually but I guess it’s the cost of being free

Is there a guide on how to make a backup?

I've got the new '25 Hurricane @ $62K.
I could not imagine what would ever give me the idea to mess with the electronics on this truck !!

Do you have Alfa OBD

If so connect to your BCM and navigate to the configuration settings. Select change car configuration and backup vehicle configuration
ok ill try it. I did buy the whole setup and have accessed the program. I am having intermittent RFI signal issues. Sometimes my TPMS works and sometimes it doesn't. Also, sometimes My FOB works from 100 feet and sometimes I need to be next to the truck, I had several codes stored in the RFI module. I didn't write them down, but it was like "RFI antenna intermittent connection" or something like that. Same type code for the TPMS sensors. Ill make a copy and begin my research into the issues...THX RR

One interesting thing I noticed is since I cleared the codes and reset the RFI module, I haven't had the TPMS failure or key fob distance issue! I got them daily before the clear/reset. Its been 7 days and no issue so far! This is an interesting one. Thanks for the offer! RR
