So it's been raining for about a week here in Sacramento. Knowing this, I went to get 3 bales of straw for my goats. As I get home, I think, "you know what would be a great idea? drive through my field in my truck and drop off the bedding." The whole time, a small voice in my head saying, "don't do it, don't do it. You've done this before". Not sure what even got into my head. Needless to say, I get all the way across my field, surprisingly, and then I'm stuck axle deep in clay.

I go inside and have to admit what I've done to the wife. I'm about to ask her to drive me to the rental car place so I can get to work tomorrow. Sure enough, she puts on her muck boots and we're outside digging the truck out. So I put some ply wood down, jack the rear up by the hitch. Second jack to get under the axle. Put plywood under the rear tires. then work on the front. Then surprisingly, it worked. I then drove 4 feet at a time with the wife telling me when to stop as I took the plywood from behind the truck and moved it to the front, so on, so forth. Took several hours to cross my field but I have my truck back in my drive way.

Not sure when my stroke happened today but clearly I have some kind of brain damage. I would say I knew I kept the wife around for a reason but in reality, I'm not sure why she even keeps me around.

So, MT tire time?? With, off-road front bumper and integrated winch, with a land anchor..... Should do the trick.

No tractor to cross your fields with? Or were you just trying to take a shortcut with time so you wouldn't have to bother loading them on it?

I've been there..... it's actually surprising just how quickly a truck gets stuck in wet grassy mucky stuff.

And, yeah.... nice weather this winter, huh? I'm up the I-5 in Oregon and can tell you it isn't any better. This weather is just unbelievable. The only saving grace is that camping this summer will be outstanding. All the rivers will be full and everything will be nice and green.

yes, you hit the nail right on the head. but I'm guessing, I'd have my tractor stuck out there based on the slop that's out there.

Women love being needed.
Since Kids grow up & Husbands never do,
that's why she keeps you around.

I make my wife feel NEEDED, everyday.

Not sure when I had my Strokes either, but must have, since I was not this Goofy, before I got married.

Been there done that and got the t-shirt. Bought a new 1988 Dodge Dakota 4WD and within 2 hours of having off the lot, buried axle deep in mud. Cost me $75 and a wrecker to pull it out.

We've all been there. I recall a situation where we stuck one of the farm trucks, figuring it wasn't that muddy and should bring another out to pull it out, got it stuck, decided to pull the big diesel out (because we clearly thought this through) to the pull them out, buried it too.
