So I purchased a 19 Ford Flex with 11k miles and for a dang good deal at 24k. 1 owner blah blah blah. It has sync, but no navigation or uconnect. So I did some research and it was going to run 2.5k to have it upgraded. So I purchased a add on screen for less then 100 bucks. So worth it. I am about to add one to my 12 Ram as well. I'll link the product below.

Pretty neat find. It looks like it also doubles as a dashcam.

That's just too cool and a fabulous price, thanks for the link.

While using it for Android Auto or CarPlay, how does it compare, subjectively, to how they appear on an 8" Ram Uconnect screen?

I prefer the accuracy of AA versus the Uconnect Nav feature but the display for AA appears to be pathetically small, I don't like the look or functionality. I'm considering installing an old TomTom GPS to replace the Nav for long trips.

What are you doing to get gps and will it pick up SiriusXM? I'm really wanting to change over my factory stock system to at least a backup camera and Bluetooth. I'm willing to buy the rear view mirror and such but is this the better option? Thanks

??? With that you Bluetooth your phone to it. Just Bluetooth you phone to the factory headunit and save $100.

Something seems odd about this….

Go aftermarket, something with that has everything including wireless AndroidAuto/CarPlay built in. Cutchfield can show you what works and can make the entire install fairly easy. It's even possible to add the backup camera in the OEM location

I really want a new stereo with Bluetooth and a backup camera in place of the original one but still a factory bezel. I was thinking the RA2 was as big as I could go? I want the camera in the tailgate as well. Where did the backup camera view show, in the stereo? And the rear view was for Bluetooth?

The Bluetooth and rearview camera would go through the aftermarket radio, it would be a much larger screen than in the rearview mirror. To get the reverse camera in the rearview mirror a wiring would need to be added which involves pulling the headliner partially down.

Its all bluetooth. It works super well. I am stuck at a 2500 upgrade for the flex and my ram I can't get a box that I need to make an aftermarket unit work. I forget which one I needed.
