Yea, same for me, as far as who I've had experience with in the past. Granted, that's been limited to air filters and smaller items like that...

Been debating going with that style (either K&N or S&B), or the Vararam style. Leaning towards the K&N/S&B route as of right now...

How long ago did you install yours, or what's your thoughts so far?
I installed my K&N CAI last spring and absolutely love the sound now when I step on it, even a year later I still get that smile. Looks way nicer under the hood too than the ugly air cleaner box

Yea, I'm looking forward to throwing one in and hearing/seeing what kinda difference it's gonna make to the fun of tooling around in it once it's installed...

Really leaning towards using my 1k "budget" on:

CAI (leaning towards an S&B)
Pedal Commander
Borla ProXS muffler

And some tint on the front windows...

By my count, that's approximately $850, plus install of the muffler...

Someone else mentioned the BedRug. I installed one on my Rig as I had one on my prior truck and absolutely loved it. I can crawl into the bed and even lay down on the floor without feeling the long bed ridges. I also added the Access Tonneau cover and bed rails. Prior rig also had them, so felt naked without em. My prior truck had chrome rails, while my current one has flat black. Added fender flares, front bug guard (to hide small rock chips on front of the hood), and mud flaps to current rig as well.

I will be in the market for a tonneau eventually, as that's one thing I would say I'm most disappointed in with my truck, if there is one... The Limited comes with a tonneau from the factory, but the previous owner removed it for whatever reason. So, missing a factory option, but it was too good of a deal to pass on just for that one thing. So, while it's not an immediate need, it's something that's on my radar eventually...

That's an interesting concept with the bed rug too. Not sure I would get much benefit out of it, but definitely wouldn't have guessed it was thick enough to wear you can't feel the actual bed through it.

Do a search for BedRug - they have an informative video that describes what they're made of and how easy it is to install. I love how it protects the bed from regular use, won't mold, and is easily cleaned when needed. Perfect for the occasional moving of furniture - protects the bed and won't scratch or mar the furniture. Things don't slide around as much either. Finally doesn't tear the bed of the truck up either like the hard plastic liners do.

Some folks prefer the spray in liners like Rhino Liner or LineX, but I found those will fade in the sun and sometimes flake off - plus the bed can still be dented, but when I've had to crawl into the bed, the hard floor was still hard on the knees.

Final note about the tonneau cover. With the cover on it's easy to forget about stuff in the bed. I once forgot about my golf clubs being in the bed. They bounced around back there for over 3 months one summer. Out of sight, out of mind.

Round that out with 5" exhaust tips for $200 (a little over budget, but worth it!)...the 5" just fills in the bumper so much better.

Right on, I'll take a peek. What's another $50 over a grand?? haha...

Got any specific recommendations worth looking at first?

Haha that's exactly how most of us think! I've gone with a few different brands over the years, recently I went with carvens black tips that are bolt on:

I've also used tips from summit racing for 2.5" to 5", welded on and those held up fairly well and were a little cheaper. However, I'm happy with the carvens and anticipate being able to resell them after trade in since they are bolt on. Also, they have a 99 year warranty, which the cheaper brand couldn't compete with to say the least.

UPDATE:

2 down, 2 (maybe 3) to go!

Locked up a decent deal on both a Borla Pro XS muffler and an S&B Cold Air Intake today. Should have them in-hand mid next week, and hopefully at least the CAI installed next weekend...

That leaves Tint for sure, as well as a Pedal Commander if/when I come across one for a good price. Still on the fence on upgrading exhaust tips for now...

Appreciate all ya'lls hints/tips/suggestions, even the funny ones! Gave me so many ideas to shuffle through, which is what I was hoping for when I started this thread...

Pictures to follow when I get an opportunity...

I had the pedal commander on mine but removed it after a few months, loved it as it made truck more lively but left it very hard on gas.Mine is only the pentastar thought.I have that pedal commander here somewhere if you want it.

If i had 1K i’d do brakes, and buy 2018 Limited rims for my 2013, as they’re so good looking.

Funny you mention that, as that's exactly what I have, a 2018 Limited. Was just having that discussion with the wife last night, as she was half joking and saying I'm gonna go "full redneck" and jack the truck way up and throw huge tires and wheels on it next. Told her I really don't care for the lifted look, and I'll probably keep these wheels for as long as they're in good shape because I really like the look of them...

That’s good, the 2018 Limited rims look AMAZING.

Currently right now i’m buying stuff to “upgrade” my pretty base model SLT trimmed truck to a Limited, (center console, brown/white interior overhaul, outside moldings, factory LED lights, etc).

I think the 2018 Limited rims look far better than the 2019 Limited rims too.

That's a pretty cool project you've got on your hands... Got any pictures of your progress?

Not yet as i’m still saving up to buy everything at once, but the first thing i’m planning on doing is completely gutting the interior, the factory cloth seats need to go, they’re comfortable as hell but they’re stained badly. Only thing i’ve really done is the factory RA2/Uconnect 5.0 to the Uconnect 8.4AN swap, but when everything starts to be delivered i’ll let ya know :)
