Take the Cummins away from Nissan. Bring it back home where it belongs in a Ram

I Love my 18 Ram 2500HD 4x4 CC
Blue Streak Pearl off-road

I don't like Nissans (or Toyotas), but I think it's a great complement that Nissan puts a Cummins in their trucks. I'm fine with it.

Ram would have to figure out how to up the fuel economy by at least 10mpg.

20 years ago Dodge screwed up and passed on the Detroit Diesel 4.0L DELTA engine that was engineered for a half ton platform. Dodge could have had two of the biggest names in diesels under their hoods.
Problem is it’s a 5.0L V8 and that engine structure has always been a fuel sucker. Do you think there’s any way that they could up the fuel Econ on those engines? Would be nice

I'd like to see a Supra-Limited+ model with a Keurig coffee maker and a mini toaster oven in the center console. I've been on some long drives that a hot danish and some fresh coffee would have been nice. I'd say a beer fridge, but I'm sure one of you Debbie Downers would remind me that drinking and driving is illegal.... Then there could be a pop up TV antenna so you watch TV on the 24" touchscreen while you're sitting in traffic. Hell, maybe a little hatch in the floorboard that opens to the underside of the truck so you could pee while driving.

Haha, I like your sense of humor! Well, you already have two ice buckets in the rear underfloor storage for your beer (kinda hard to reach from the front seat though). Maybe the pee hatch could have a tube with a funnel running to your **** so you don't get pee all over your truck? Kind of important if you don't want your truck smelling like a gas station bathroom.

Hah! I hear ya about the tube! I'd like to think I wouldn't need it, but I'm bettin' my wife would think otherwise.... :pepper:

My wife's '18 Forester has a nice little feature. The dash lights (hvac controls, radio controls, etc) light up blue in day or dim light, but shift to red in full darkness so as to be easier on the eyes. Wouldn't mind seeing this on a RAM.

Not NA but is badass

Wishful thinking but I would like to see the 2019 Classic with a NA 426 Hemi option. Only reason I could fathom that would make me get rid of my 2016 for a newer Ram. However I would much rather see a drop in crate option for a NA 426 for my 2016. I know with the short stroke of the new 426 is better suited for boost but would think the NA version would still put out over 500HP NA.

Like you said, it's the nature of the platform. They need something in a six cylinder configuration somewhere in the 4.0L - 5.0L range. They could take two cylinders off the current Cummins 6.7 and make the block with compacted graphite. I'm guessing it could be close to 600 ft.lbs

What I would call a 'heavy half'. Basically a 1500 with some 2500 features. For those of us who would like some more cargo capacity, heavier features, oem auxiliary switches, etc. but not have a truck that is so high off the ground.

Basically like a 1500HD model.

I would like steps built into the rear bumper, rear bed camera, USB ports on the lower dashboard and in the rear seat area (back of the front console), higher payload ratings, a supercharged V6 or turbo V6 option, a high performance V8 option (426 hemi), and a hellcat option.

It’s interesting that at least some of the mainstream ideas on this thread are actually available in the 5th gen models either as options or from MOPAR as accessory upgrades now.

The new interiors are fantastic, but I doubt I would every really want one. The simple interior of mine works better for me, though the USB or SD card ports should be on the center stack part for music. I also wouldn't mind a built in electronic compass in the dash somewhere.

I'd settle for shifts that don't feel like gooey marshmallow under judicious throttle. Full roll-down back glass instead of the tiny sliding "port hole". Oh, and the full surround camera system as an option for any trim level.

I would like to see a button on the steering wheel to change modes on the radio. From radio to apps to climate, to phone etc etc. there is a button for most everything else, why not that ?!!?

Built in "PC" style throttle response selects.
Also menu options to add your own LEDs without needing canbus bulbs, basically you plug in ANY bulb and in the menu say THIS is the new norm for good bulb current.

Beef up crewcab 1500's payload to 2000lbs instead of the weak 1380lb.

A console mounted auto-stick.
A radio without the TV screen.
A floor mounted headlight dimmer.
An air suspension that moves faster than my grandma (who's been dead for a decade).
Retractable (in-fender) 30 caliber mini-guns (for bothersome lane hogs).

I'd like to see Comcast bitchslapped for charging us too much...:D,

Sorry, off topic..... Now back to Rams

How about a better placed oil filter where we could get to it easy and make it bigger.
