Hello, Interesting problem I've had two shops look at it with no success. My 2015 2500 6.4L Hemi is having some starting issues and the trouble is it doesn't do it every time. When I turn the key and the truck doesn't start I can hear the starter engaging, but no turnover. The battery is holding strong at 14V and when I let the truck sit for a half hour it fires right up and it runs fine without dying. The computer is putting up no codes so I'm kind of chasing my tail. I'm thinking that maybe it's not getting enough fuel during start-up so maybe the fuel pump/filter is bad. Is there any other quick fix of diagnosis test I can do? Thanks for the help!

I doubt your battery is holding 14V static with the engine off. You want to test the static battery voltage with a meter before you start the truck after it has sat at least overnight. It should be close to 12.5V. If it's the original factory battery your probably due for a new battery.

Thanks but it's not a factory battery and was replaced a few years ago. With the truck off and lights on it still holds a good charge and turnsover first thing in the morning.

Is it cranking or just a click when you 'hear the starter engage'?
If just a click it's probably the starter solenoid, if it cranks it's a fuel/ignition problem.

when it doesn't start the starter continues to click and tries to turnover. I'm leaning toward a fuel problem but when it does turnover it runs just fine. Not sure if that's a symptom of a bad fuel pump.

Update. The truck has still been not starting intermittently, after three different shops have looked at it, the diagnosis is a faulty power module or TIPM that the fuel relay pump is having issues with generating enough fuel pressure to turn the motor over at the start. From what I understand there are two options I can try. First, replace the TIPM which is about $1k if I'm lucky. Or I can try a cheap bypass option, but from what I have been reading is that it's only a temporary fix. Does anyone have experience with the bypass option?
