Illuminated cup holder help

So I ordered some led cup holder inserts. They require to be connected to a switched 12v source, which is fine but I want to connect them to a source that is only on when the headlights are on. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to find a switch that I can tap into? It’s a 2012 with the floor mounted shifter. Thanks!

Run it over to your head light switch..

If you have the factory inverter, one of the wires that runs into the dash/console plug is a feed from the parking lights circuit.

I wired them to the cigarette lighter.

That's on whenever the truck is on, the OP wants them on only when the external lights are on.

What insert kit do you get? I also have a 2012
The harness that runs up your drivers side A pillar has the wire for the ceiling console led (Factory cup holder light) that would be your best option.

I tapped into the light that illuminates the gears to the left of the shifter. Turns out it’s only on when the headlights are....exactly what I wanted. Easier than I thought it’d be.

Thanks for your thread! I also have some cup holder lights but they are connected to a switched 12V.
Your idea to get them on only if the headlights are on is brillant! (I have a 2016 with the rotary shifter however)

If you have Facebook, the guys name is mark bishop. He said he’s gonna work on getting an email setup for people who don’t have Facebook. He does them on his off time so it takes about 2-3 weeks to get depending on how busy he is. Once he gets me his email I’ll let you guys know in case there’s more interest.

The only light that I found was the tiny light in the overhead console lighting up the middle of the console and the cup holder. Is this the one that you mean?
