My 2021 6.4 idles just above 500 RPM when hot and in neutral or park. I want it to idle higher, as in around 800 RPM, for more oil pressure and so I have more Alternator output while winching. Unlike the 6.7 diesel it does not have the high idle control using the cruise and set buttons.

Is there an easy way to increase the idle speed, even if it is permanent. Is this controlled electronically now as I cannot find an adjustment screw on the throttle linkage or intake butterfly. Thanks.

You would need to have the ECM tuned for a higher idle which would include getting one unlocked.
Or look into an aftermarket module that you set to a higher rpm when you need to run the winch:

So small update. Had the pickup in to the dealer for the tailgate recall. Asked about getting them to turn up the idle 100 rpm. Nope, can't do it. So long and short, the Dealer pretty much can't do anything anymore. Can't have the fogs on with high beam, can't lower the TPMS thresholds so I can run less than 52 pounds in the rear, door sticker is 65, without the low pressure warning going off, can't turn up the idle, can't activate the PTO high idle function on the 6.4 gas like you can on the 4500 and 5500, can't set different tire sizes and a whole raft of other stuff on top of that.

I had resisted buying the alphaobd and security cable because I am not that fond of messing with the vehicle brain. However, given the fact the Dealer is now pretty much useless for customising even very minor functions I am going to buy the gear and figure out how to use it.

Another option for your truck would be the Tazer module, it will allow you to do the changes your looking for(fogs, TPMS, etc) and has a winch mode. It's more straight forward as far as not messing up anything up in the vehicle "brains"

Thanks, you have been a great help. Appreciate it. I actually ordered the AlphaOBD, security bypass and the
OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth on Amazon Canada for less than ordering it from Amazon U.S.
Now all I have to do is download AlphaOBD. I am very proficient with computers so figured after reading all the info on here that the Alpha program was actually pretty simple and relatively goof proof as long as you make a backup first, keep good notes and don't go messing around with stuff you aren't sure what it does. It seemed to be the most rounded as I also checked out Pro Cal, which basically just does tires and TMPs. Sure appreciate all your help.

The best cable is from this Guy, give him a try!!!
copy his instruction for install, it has to be connected to the CanBus, don't know where it's located on your 6.4

That is exactly the guy I bought from. He is a preferred vendor on here and lots of positive comments. Sent order and he shipped it within a couple of hours. Thanks for the confirmation.
