Hells yeah, has anyone found how large of a hit the truck intake will take till the pressure is to much? A few more cam jobs and motor jobs you will have the 09 heads and intake. Then making a track intake for that would be a fun project.

Working on fitting that 09' variable runner truck intake, which in theory should be the best possible intake available. It shares the same port design as the 6.1 and 09' car intake but it shortens the runners under WOT and high RPM's giving you long runners for low RPM WOT torque, and then short runners for high RPM WOT HP. Biggest problem will be getting it to fit under the old Ram(pre 09') hood because the throttle body points straight up?

Yeah the 2010 R/T that was at the track last weekend had a straight up TB. It looked odd with the CIA he had wrapped in black heat wrap.

Maybe? I even tried turning it around backwards but that puts the TB way deep behind the engine. I'm thinking a SRT-10 hood might provide the needed clearance if the stock one doesn't......or maybe some dork ass scoop.

Yeah the front of the motor where the head and block meet, that was the easiest place to measure off on my truck and it looks WAY to tight on my truck. Why the hell did they have to place the TB pointing up? Why not like the 09' car and 6.1 pointing forward?

Im not sure you would think the air flowed better on the TBs that sit the old way.

I wanna get a good look at a new TB on them because it looks different over all. I know the ports on the older 5.7 plastic intake hade some size to them, I bet the newer ones are bigger allowing for that extra hp.

The 09'-10' comes with two different TB's, the one I have is the same as the 05'-08' Rams and I guess the other is like the car TB....which to me looks identical. Basically they all flow the same as the old ones. I haven't taken it off the manifold yet to measure the opening of the manifold but I'm guessing it's probably the same. Most guys don't notice a real performance gain with TB's until they get all the heavy mods and bolt-ons, so that tells me it's flowing plenty for most applications.

True the bolt on ported TB for mine didnt do jack far as 1/4 times but feels alill more responsive to part throttle.

Had a Moe's one, sold it when I was thinking of selling the truck, definitely going to get another one now that I'm keeping it.
